Rijstaffel oh yeah!

We went to Asmara specifically to eat Rijstaffel. We asked them to replace the meat dishes by fish or simply make them vegetarian and they were kind enough to prepare for us: tuna and tofu satay, mahi mahi in sweet & spicy sauce, curried cassava leaves, crispy peanuts and tempeh, tuna in coconut... read more

The restaurant is great, the food is amazing, prices are good compared to other fine dinning. However, during our visit the service was horrible in my opinion, they had young waiters that had tags saying under training, they barely communicated in English, and missed some of the order, i believe the owner was doing a charity thing during that night... We only had one night in Sengiggi - just stopping off on route to the Gili Islands. We chose Asmari as it featured in Lonely Planet. We were really impressed with the service, quality of food and lovely atmosphere. Loved the Thai Prawn curry too - it was delicious !

Had a lovely dinner here. Really beautifully presented Indonesian food. Great prices, lovely staff. Nice variety too of western dishes which helped my fussy teenager. Worth a visit to the gift shop there too

Went for dinner at Asmara with my partner. The restaurant looks nice and is quite cozy. Staff seemed to be working very hard yet made sure to be friendly to all. Was able to peek into the kitchen which looked clean and professionally appointed. I had the Mahi Mahi which turned out to be terribly dry. I realise Mahi Mahi... More

Very nice place to eat and drink. They have an extensive menu and good choice of drinks etc. They also have live music to accompany your dinner. The place is well run and good staff.

If you had too much of Indonesian food and wanna try something more international for a change, this is the place to go! Make sure to arrive before you get hungry as the service is a bit slow. Nevertheless, the staff is very kind and the restaurant offers a freshly baked bread with butter on the house before you're order... More

Beautiful restaurant in the middle of Senggigi under German management. Really friendly staff, well trained and properly dressed. We sat in the road side part of the place, which was ok, because the restaurant had such great ambiente, we didn't recognize the main street too much. My friend had the Wiener Schnitzel and found it to be really good (yep,... More

The food was outstanding. We ordered the Sasak rijsttafel which was delicious and authentic, i.e. with the characteristic heat level intact. Staff were helpful and the ambiance pleasant. The restaurant also offers a free shuttle service to a number of resorts, which is a plus.
