Perfect beach lunch

We ordered the lobster roll and chips which the staff brought out to us on the beach. It was perfect for what we wanted accompanied by great homemade lemonade. This is a fantastic beach with plenty of places to choose from to eat but this place is as good as any for food and location.

this is a uncomplicated menu but what you get is of fantastic quality. my husband and I both had the surf and turf together with chips. the steak was cooked to perfection and had great flavour. of course the lobster was fab too. The selection of different beers (some from Hawaii) went down very well and suited the whole experience.... More

I have been here 5 times in total now. I have tried the whole menu- lunch, dinner, tea, cakes, breakfast, all of it. I LOVE it. It's got a great chilled atmosphere, wicked view, great music. The food is good too. It's not Michelin, but that's not what it's trying to be. To those few reviewers that have written negatively... More

Simple, uncomplicated and tasty food. The cheesy chips are an absolute must. The view is great, the staff friendly, the atmosphere and decor relaxed and comfortable. Food was fresh and flavoursome, what's not to like?

The menu isn't extensive but it is interesting and much better than average cafe food. My husband and I shared a crab frittata and a lobster bun, both were delicious as were the skin on fries. The view is the best in a Polzeath, the cafe is simply decorated, the staff were very friendly and our dog was welcome. It's... More

This was our second visit to the restaurant and I was hoping it was going to be better than our first. Regretfully it was disappointing. We were a large group of adults and teenagers. It was very expensive for the quality and quantity we received. The Staff were just a little too relaxed and inattentive. They could offer us no... More

On our first visit to Polzeath we happened upon Surfside.. We were welcomed with wet dog in toe and fed delicious food , great beer and good coffee.. Good vibe and a chilled atmosphere .. Only down side is we went home the next day so couldn't go back ! We will revisit next Easter though !

We visited for a pre-booked family lunch - there were a lot of us, on the first Sunday of the October half term. Glad we booked and ordered ahead, as it was very busy. We found the food to be well presented and delicious, the service was excellent - and we will all be back.

We visited for a Sunday afternoon snack after having enjoyed a meal in the summer. The hollandaise was more like cream coloured dish water. Not like any hollandaise I've ever tasted. The staff were rude and when questioned why the hollandaise wasn't the same as in the summer we were told "we have a new chef". We were given a... More

Thank you for signing up to Tripadvisor especially to write a review on us, I see it's the first review you've written. Firstly, i'm sorry that you felt the hollandaise you ordered resembled dishwater - I can assure you that it certainly was not dishwater! I was there on the day you visited and spoke to one of your group,... More

Access only via the beach, a really limited menu, not especially cheap and a bit basic - shouldn't really work and yet it does, totally. If you want great steak (the rump is better than the fillet), fresh, well cooked lobster combined with simple salads and chips, this is definitely worth a visit. Crab salad also excellent. It's all a... More
