An all around great experience! Worth seeing once!

We thought this place would be really gimmicky and weren't going to take the trip out (we were in Stone Town at this point of our trip) but I'm glad we changed our minds. I kept thinking we're already here - why not just check it out! Cabs are pretty expensive in Zanzibar but after we went, I'm... read more

Beautiful venue and definitely a quirky experience. The terrace outside is beautiful with spectacular views. Come during low tide and see it roll in. The food is average at best and quite overpriced but a nice excursion none the less.

Absolutely stunning location, azure blue sea, great cocktails and food, friendly warm service. This place and its location is one of the top delights on this planet. Spent an entire afternoon gazing at the sea, taking frequent swims, and welcomed back with delicious cocktails. Magical!

Although we weren't lucky to arrive at high tide, we absolutely enjoyed the view. This is an awesome place for a restaurant and would recommend for anyone to visit as an experience. The food was great, but the service was quite dissapointing. Make sure to pack those extra dollars.

This is basically a hotel built on a rock. I'll let that sink in. It's a hotel built on a rock. It's a pretty cool place to come to as when the tide is down, you can roll up your trousers/ hike your dress up and walk to the stairs of the hotel. When the tide's up, there's a rowboat... More

We had no expectations when we went here together with my boyfriend and his friend. I gotta say that the location is great and it looks nice but that's about it. If the service goes wrong in everything you can't even remember how the food tasted like.. There is a huge lack of education and English language among the staff.... More

The location of The Rock is sensational, there is no way around it. If you arrive during low tide, take a stroll along the beach and enjoy the scenery before entering. We came during low tide and left during high tide, so we saw both scenes. Just for the photos you will get it's worth a visit. The staff is... More

The Rock looks great on the photos. Indeed, the location is spectacular and I was expecting a true gourmet experience. Unfortunately, it was disappointing from the first minute to the last. The first impression when you enter the place is that it is surprisingly cheap-looking. Safari chairs, worn out kanga table cloth, ugly cutlery... If this place got a little... More
