Location location location it doesn't come much better. Food and Service were average which is almost expected when you have a spot this good.

The Rock Restaurant was the highlight of our time in Zanzibar. What a great location and so unique. The food was lovely but the atmosphere was the icing on the cake. Watching the sun go down with pre dinner drinks was pretty special. And of course getting to and from the restaurant was very cool! A must do if you... More

Very romantic small place. Fish is good, View is great. Prices are unreasonable high but it is worth to go there once and see the evening falling all over the sea...the small restaurant lighted by the candles.

This restaurant was fun to visit and the view was amazing. We all wanted to try the seafood platter which is advertised as big enough for two. It is not! he seafood is great quality but order one per person. And the service is slow, but it's Africa so you have to expect that.

Having a bar and resto on a coral outcrop in the Indian Ocean immediately puts The Rock in a league of its own. It's what dreams are made of, right? We went to The Rock twice during our stay (an easy walk from Kichanga Lodge which shares the same owners) for cold beer. They could charge outrageous amounts due to... More

An amazing view with a very unique way of getting to The Rock (via boat) - but the service was non-existent, the $8 cocktails were tiny, and one cocktail arrived with a fly at the bottom of the drink.

First thing to know is that you have to make a reservation to dine at The Rock because you don't want to wade through the water and climb those stairs only to find the place fully reserved! The Rock is off the shore so you get wet to get there. The service is really great and the waiters are very... More

Amazing food! Definitely on the more expensive end, but the setting, the service and quality of food is top notch! It was my husband's birthday and we organised them to have a cake for him. It was a lovely surprise as all of the staff came out singing and dancing for him. True African style with joy!

I guess you don't go there for the food, yes the food is ok, i guess, but the arrival, the scenery everything else makes it almost magical, is like being in one of those computer desktop pictures that you though you'd never see for yourself.

The food and drinks were delightful and the setting amazing! For some reason we went after dark, and while the Milky Way was awe-inspiring, we wish we'd have shown up a bit before sunset to fully enjoy the setting. Highly recommend!
