Description: The Boathouse is Norfolk's most anticipated new venue for 2014. Formerly the Eels Foot pub, the venue has been lovingly restored and extended and now serves traditional pub grub(with the occasional twist) during the day with country and gastro dining in the evenings (carvery option only on Sundays). Food is served from 12 noon - 3pm and 6pm - 9pm daily (Monday - Saturday) and 12 noon - 6pm on Sundays. We use the finest fresh seasonal local ingredients with all meals being prepared to order. Beautifully presented interior with outdoor seating, children's play area and stunning views of the Broad. We can assure you of a very warm welcome at the Boathouse.

Beautiful venue. The interior and the furnishings are lovely and the seating very comfortable. We were given a table in the bar. Pity the place was deserted as there was no atmosphere at all. Our meals (4 of them) were only average and certainly not value for money. The meat was tough. (2 of the meals) The chips with the... More

We are sorry that you were disappointed with your visit. We are constantly reviewing the quality of our food but for your reassurance we certainly never reheat the chips and it is the first time that we have had a complaint of this nature. We did have an issue with our meat supplier which has now been resolved so we... More

The service was so bad we had to leave the restaurant to get more drinks as there wasn't any staff at hand anywhere. After a long wait on the food it arrived I ordered the hunters chicken it was very dry and tuff. Others who was with us said the same. The waitress was so rude and had attitude. We... More

We came here to celebrate a significant family birthday. On recommendation we called ahead to book a table and wasn't offered a choice of restaurant or bar so I was disappointed to see we were seated in the general area where we were told it wasn't waitress service and drinks, menus, cutlery and payment would have to be made at... We turned up here about 10 - 15 mins late (due to no fault of our own). We did apologise. The lady who greeted us was neither friendly or unfriendly, just a bit aloof. We were shown to our table in the main restaurant, this is more "hotelly / tourist attraction" than country pub. Service throughout was a bit slipshod,... More

Although the weather on the day of our visit for lunch was awful, this venue was still a sight to behold with a wonderful view overlooking Ormesby Broad. Car Parking ample and well thought out. Facilities in the Restaurant were of excellent standard, plenty of space between tables, a bar well staffed, toilets superb. We had the carvery lunch which... More

Visited here for my husbands birthday. Lovely place staff where friendly, the first two courses where very nice although the very large potato thing under my sea bass was tasteless would have preferred new potato's. The Boathouse is situated on the beautiful Ormesby Broad. The premises are a stunning wedding venue and have been recently tastefully renovated. My husband and I were there for an evening meal. We were welcomed by friendly, helpful staff and there was a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. We’re vegetarian and menus can be boring but we enjoyed our meal very much.... More

Thank you for your kind comments. We did have a few teething problems when we opened as you might expect from a new business - we had not anticipated the volumes of customers. We have however worked hard to iron out any problems and thank you for confirming that we have achieved this. More
