We had the loveliest (and bestes!) lunch ever at Laura Sallegias "Ristorante 4 Piedi & 8.5 Pollici" in Bastardo. You have to try her Umbrian starters that kept coming for 2 hours. Besides being a great cook, Laura is a wonderful host and interested citizen of the world. She speaks German, English and Italian (of course). She and her colleague... More

Today we went visiting wineries in the Sagrantino wine area and found this restaurant on trip advisor (restaurant four feet and eight and a half thumbs). It took at least half an hour of driving around Bastardo to find it. It is behind a big supermarket and the bar crystal. Just keep trying and asking people. There are no signs.... More

We discovered this place through tripadvisor and had some difficulties to find it since we went on vacation for the second time to Giano dell' Umbria and had not found it some months ago. We were more than pleased with this discovery ! Laura and her friend are doing the utmost to make you taste the original, authentic and delicious... More

I often go to this restaurant. It is tucked away (as Italian restaurants often are), but well worth finding. Last week I took some friends there for lunch. As always Laura, assisted by Paolo, were most welcoming. As a starter, we were provided (on the house) with bruschetti, with the new olive oil. We then had various delicious pasta dishes... More

The owner of this restaurant is a self-taught chef with lots of experience....both as a chef in other restaurants and with generations of recipes passed down from her family. Laura and her restaurant are gems. She is tucked away is a strip mall kind of place that you will not find unless you are a local or someone has told... More

If you visit this part of Umbria, make sure you visit this amazing place. We were lucky enough to find this gem on TripAdvisor and had one of the best lunches in Italy on our so far 3 week road trip. Laura is amazing host and chef. Food was all homemade and in season. We started our lunch with selection... More

Dear traveler, if you are riding close to Giano, you have to stop and make a pause in this little restaurant. Try their starter and then stringozzi with onions. Stringozzi is kind of spaghetti, but rectangular, they are made by a dough sheet (water and flour) of 2 or 3 millimeters cut in strips of 3 or 4 millimeters. the... More

We had a memorable meal at 4 Piedi the other night. I was blown away by my main course: guinea fowl in a "liver" sauce that was layered in extraordinary flavors. It seemed to be an ancient recipe that combines liver, garlic, onions, capers, rosemary and several other ingredients. Laura, the charming owner/chef/server also prepared an elegant vegetarian ravioli dish... More
