The Masons Arms is undoubtedly very pretty and in a quaint location. That being said, my experience here was a bit disappointing. Friends and I popped in one night for a drink at the bar. The fact that we were not there to dine and lacked reservations garnered us a rather cool reception from the staff. When we asked whether... More

Excellent food! Nicely presented and very tasty. The location is beautiful. I had lunch here with my parents and my brother and we were all very pleased. I would recommend to one anyone in the area.

Having driven an hour to get here and heard the amazing reviews myself and my partner were very excited. We opted for the two course set lunch menu and shared the starter and desert. The pate starter was nice but have had better. We both had the chicken but our potatoes were raw so had to return them. The chocolate... More

We found this little gem by chance, following the brown tourist signs. We had two small, hungry children to be fed and a long journey ahead of us. From the outside it looks like a chocolate box perfect, pretty thatched English pub. The tiny inside bar didn't disappoint with low beams and huge fireplace, not to mention the cosy comfy... More

We visited The Masons Arms a couple of days ago for lunch to celebrate my 50th birthday. The exterior of the building doesn't really hint at the level of comfort inside; bar, lounge and restaurant with beams, tasteful artwork and all spotlessly clean. We sat on comfortable sofas in the lounge whilst choosing from the menu and enjoyed complimentary olives... More

After a good walk, managed the Devon lanes and arrived well in time for a memorable meal. Friendly and efficient service throughout and a delicious, balanced and satisfying set lunch. Very high quality ingredients , outstanding presentation and each course full of interesting flavour. Overall faultless and very good value. Our second visit and we'll worth the 90 mile round... This is the third time we have eaten at The Masons Arms and can't wait to go again! It is an extremely well run and efficient restaurant, which is helped by the fact that nearly all staff are family members. The food was divine in taste and presentation but the pudding of triple Raspberry was amazing and the soufflé part... More

We looked for the genuine and very best english pub experience we could find in England. We found it. This is world class dining with proper homeliness and heartfelt, no-nonsense service. Having dinner on a lovely summer evening we got a table in the garden overlooking the rolling hills with grazing sheep and whispering forests. Something that immediately stood out... More

Great food, great atmosphere, all the little extras you would expect from a top restaurant. Pleasant staff. Only little fault I could find if I was being picky is that the food was not over hot, but we did choose to eat outside!

We found this pub by accident travelling to Woolacombe for the weekend. We were greeted like locals and this we liked. We said we would like to eat outside as it was a lovely hot day, there we were given menus. We chose what to eat and as I had broke my arm asked if the chef could cut it... More
