Fabulous Food at the Masons Arms

Since we found the Masons Arms, we have been almost once a month! The food is absolutely delicious. It is Michelin star, so you should expect the price to reflect that, but the service is superb and the food absolutely delicious. Treat yourselves, you won't regret it.

The first visit we made to the Masons Arms was in October for my birthday was excellant. In order to confirm my thoughts I decided to re-visit for my partners birthday in May. First of all we were able to see the premises and surrounding grounds in daylight which was magnificent. Now more importantly the food and wine were sublime!... More

We dined here when staying at a local B&B, part way through walking the Two Moors Way from Plymouth to Lynmouth - it is not often you get the chance to eat at such a top restaurant when out walking! The food was really excellent with sensible portions - I had smoked duck salad to start, followed by John Dory... More

This pub is definitely worth locating in an exmoor backwater. There's a bar where you'll find the locals and a variety of canine friends. Further in you come to a pleasant dining room where modern food is served by smiling staff. The menu is limited but what i chose was delicious, scallops with Thai style salad, John dory with crab... We visited this restaurant for a celebratory birthday lunch. The building is very old and therefore slightly higgledy piggledy, with uneven floors and duck your head doorways. If you have mobility or accessibility difficulties it would be tricky. However the ambience is warm welcoming and pleasant with a lovely wood burner, pleasant lounge and a light bright dining area. Never... More

This isn't a very big restaurant and it manages to retain it's country pub feel. The food is outstanding, it's easy to see how they have held a Michelin star for so long. The staff are friendly and the owner / chef Mark was great to chat to after our meal. They had some nice local beers too! (Though in... More

My boyfriend and I visited a few months ago and it was lovely so we decided to go again and it was even better than before!! We had 3 courses and was pleasantly stuffed by the end of it! A la carte dining with 'proper' portions which is also a plus. So we had guinea fowl breast and the ham... More

Adore the food here and like the table in the bar, but the main dining room needs a better cosier ambience for an evening dining/relaxing experience. Shame.

The masons arms was recommended to me by a friend so my girlfriend and I decided to try it out. The food was absolutely incredible, the staff and service were extremely good and the pub had a traditional country charm that would struggle to make anyone feel unwelcome! I really don't think any review could quite do this place justice... More

Having heard great things about this restaurant, I was a little disappointed that the tables were plain wood with cheap table mats, and no linen cloths. The food was tasty but lacked the visual excitement that I was looking forward to. This is a very expensive place to eat, but what we had was a nice pub supper.
