A loss of an excellent venue now closed

We love the Georgian Tea rooms fantastic for breakfast and afternoon tea. The staff are friendly and service is excellent. Unfortunately the premises have been sold and it is not re-opening.

Booked a table for large party on recommendation of others. Table in main room not ready (late running previous order) and asked to wait in other room where others were eating so hung around either standing or awkwardly squashed on sofa as if observing diners!. Table eventually ready. Service incomplete - waitress didnt take all the orders and needed to... More

This is by far one of the most delicious cream tea i have had in the UK. The scones are made fresh in the kitchen, and coupled with the owner's homemade jam and clotted cream result in one of the country's best cream tea. The clotted cream and jam were awesomely tasty as they melt into your mouth on the... More

Parking time had expired at Quay antiques so drove around looking for somewhare to have aftenoon tea. Very lucky to encounter the Georgian Tea Room. Had the Mini-Cream tea with appropriae ambiance. All home made and good size portions. Good service by friendly waitress. Don't delay your visit as we understood that the owners may be selling up sometime this... More

I went here for breakfast with a friend. The interior is quaint and welcoming. We sat by the lovely open fire which was lovely. Good bacon sarnie, coffees and tea cake. Staff were friendly and polite. I would return.

Had lunch here today for the first time in ages and had forgotten just how good it is. The food is always excellent, whatever you order. Everything tastes homemade and delicious, like something your gran used to cook. Staff are lovely and the general cosy ambience is totally in keeping with the food. You know you're going to get a... Visited Topsham specifically for cream tea and it was amazing. The scones, clotted cream and jam were just divine. Tea was also great, and the cups it came in were adorable. Really great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Whenever we visit the area we always make a point of visiting the Georgian Tea Room for a cream tea. Whilst it is not the fanciest or most scenic tea room, in our opinion it offers the best cream tea in the respect of taste, quality and value. There is a good selection of home made jams to chose from.... More

We decided to stop here for lunch after reading that they recently won an award for the best cream tea in Britain - we had perfectly nice sandwiches, quiche and cream tea served in the garden but certainly nothing to write home about - waitress wasn't particularly friendly - plastic garden furniture not very pleasant to eat off - if... One of the best cream teas I've had. The scones are massive (you can definitely split a full cream tea between two) and you get a good portion of jam and clotted cream. The staff are friendly and they frequently sell courgettes for 25p! Nice garden area in the summer too.
