Pleasant dining room and interesting menu but the meal spoiled by the over-bearing chef: his loud conversation in the kitchen was audible the whole time, including disparaging remarks about customers who phoned for a booking, and also about us because we were unable to finish our very large main course.

The menu is standard bistro and is competently executed. Service is perfectly acceptable. Prices are fair - under for £40 for 3 courses with coffee. The room though a little bit cheek by jowl is nicely set up. Why is this review rather restrained? Because everything is ok plus but not very exciting. The regulars are all present and correct... Went for a meal on a weds evening expecting the normal. Was I surprised ! so much so I am writing my first review. Nothing glam about the decor and no background music, this place creates its own ambiance by being full of very happy diners. We were a party of six sampling all the delights of food which in... This is one of the best restaurants in the West Country - great food, service and setting. The owners are personally involved and always ready to chat, explain or advise. We have been many times and taken friends in total confidence that they will have a great experience.

If you can get a reservation you will not be disappointed. The menu is superb and varied with excellent quality both of ingredients, presentation and of course flavour combinations - don't skip dessert!

We went for lunch as a bit of a birthday treat. We had a lovely seafood lasagna which was rich yet light. The duck for the main course was cooked to perfection. A superb wine list. Highly recommended

Great menu choices at a reasonable price. All dishes were cooked perfectly and tasted lovely. Friendly atmosphere, and good to chat to the chef after the meal.

We went last Saturday, our first time at La Petite Maison and it definitely won't be the last! We could not fault the service the wine or the food. We can thoroughly recommend the Crab Risotto, and crab Lasagne starters, the rump of Lamb which we both had was awesome, and also the sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and... More
