Here at The Galley Topsham we want to impress you with 'the best of Devon on a plate'. We are passionate about serving you the freshest fish and seafood, simply and stylishly presented, together with exciting meat and vegetarian options sourced from local farms so we think we have something for everybody. We have a daily changing menu which means we only serve what is in season and locally available, so you can be sure that what you are eating is of the best quality. Our a la carte menu is available at lunch and dinner. At lunch we offer a special menu of two courses for £16. So whether it's a long lingering dinner, a light lunch or a business engagement we have something to suit you. We love wine and have worked hard to create a balanced wine list that includes top favourites along with some interesting options you may not be so familiar with. We are very happy to recommend a wine to go with any of our dishes so please do ask. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed and friendly. We have no dress code and we warmly welcome families with children. Great food is nothing without great service however and we put a huge emphasis on matching the service to your needs. Nigel is on hand front of house to greet you with a friendly smile and make sure you relax and enjoy your meal. With our unique location on Topsham Quay and fabulous views over the River Exe you can soak up the atmosphere of this ancient sea port from the comfort of our two dining rooms.

We have visited The Galley several times and have always enjoyed it. We had lunch there recently and all ordered the brill. It was good however, it was not listed on the menu as being 'on the bone' and it seemed that we were given the boniest part of the fish. My fish was overcooked, so it was even more... More

We visited The Galley on the evening of the 24th June - one of our first nights out since our baby was born - and we were really pleased that we chose to come here. Three exceptional courses for each of us (my husband is still talking about the wood pigeon!) and friendly service with just the right amount of... More

Deliciously tasty fish and seafood. Staff friendly and kindly got us a table where I could fit my 4 month old baby with her car seat. Cheaper option with a nice set menu. We'll definitely go back.

Me and my partner dine here on special occasions. The owner always remembers us and is chatty, friendly and professional. The food is the always perfect, we have both tried many dishes and it is always faultless. For an all round experience this restaurant cannot be beaten, it is not at all expensive for what you get. The food, the... More

From start to finish, the experience was wonderful. The menu was great, deciding what to have was hard! The pace of the meal was nicely done and the food that came out was delicious and well presented. The atmosphere is great, and the staff very professional with a good personal touch. Would definitely recommend for any occasion, and am looking... More

The consistent quality and standard of the food together with the exceptional hosting draw us back to The Galley again and again. We had lunch there on 28th May, which has been my annual birthday treat for the last few years. Superb meal of curried Monk Fish followed by ice cream. A real treat. If I had any criticism (and... Food was delicious, immaculately presented and really showcased the best of Devon and Cornwall's wonderful produce. This is fine dining done really very well indeed; delicious ingredients treated with respect and understanding. So good we hope to be back in a couple of weeks for my birthday.

I has booked a table for 4 based on previous Trip Advisor reviews and wasn't disappointed. We were well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere - and didn't feel any pressure to hurry and leave when our lunch was finished. We took the set lunch menu - £17 for two courses. I loved the fried squid... More
