Here at The Galley Topsham we want to impress you with 'the best of Devon on a plate'. We are passionate about serving you the freshest fish and seafood, simply and stylishly presented, together with exciting meat and vegetarian options sourced from local farms so we think we have something for everybody. We have a daily changing menu which means we only serve what is in season and locally available, so you can be sure that what you are eating is of the best quality. Our a la carte menu is available at lunch and dinner. At lunch we offer a special menu of two courses for £16. So whether it's a long lingering dinner, a light lunch or a business engagement we have something to suit you. We love wine and have worked hard to create a balanced wine list that includes top favourites along with some interesting options you may not be so familiar with. We are very happy to recommend a wine to go with any of our dishes so please do ask. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed and friendly. We have no dress code and we warmly welcome families with children. Great food is nothing without great service however and we put a huge emphasis on matching the service to your needs. Nigel is on hand front of house to greet you with a friendly smile and make sure you relax and enjoy your meal. With our unique location on Topsham Quay and fabulous views over the River Exe you can soak up the atmosphere of this ancient sea port from the comfort of our two dining rooms.

One of the best restaurant near Exeter

I had a dinner last year, food was delicious, menu was exciting, service was excellent and attentive but never too intrusive. It's time to revisit!

This was a lovely find on a sunny day. The food was well cooked and thought out. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The salt and pepper squid was a new way of eating squid for me which I really enjoyed. The prosseco battered plaice and rustic chips was very good too. My husband had the... More

Our second visit to the Galley and we were not disappointed. It is such a laid-back place, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent. For starters I had moules mariniere, plump and tender and the sauce was really well-balanced, neither too much cream nor too salty. Hubby had the red mullet fillet with pickled aubergine and... We looked forward to lunch here having read previous reviews. The 2 course lunch is £17. The mussels in a wine soup were as good as most other restaurants, but not the best we have had. The salt and pepper squid was fine. The prosecco battered plaice with rustic chips was average but the roast loin of cod with samphire... More

Always an excellent meal can be had here. The portions are not huge but well worth it. Limited if you don't like or ate allergic to fish!

Went here for our first meal, just myself and the wife for a while and it was the perfect choice. Both food and service were top. The only minor issue was the slight extra time that was taken for the main course, however the place was busy so all in all, very recommendable

We visited the Gallery for the first time to celebration earlier in the year. The staff and owner were very welcoming, friendly and open with an obvious passion and pride in their service and restaurant. The food was exquisite, perfectly presented and a medley of flavours and all round culinary delight. The selection and quality of wines make a perfect... More

If you are in Topsham, do not miss the Galley. This fish restaurant is absolutely excellent with delicious food and you will be well looked after by the owner who provides great service from the moment you walk through the door! If we are in Topsham again we will defnitely be back. Thanks again, Barry & Nic.

I took my husband as a surprise Birthday meal to The Galley Restaurant last night and I have to say it turned out to be the most perfect place we could have visited. Olivia greeted us at the door and was warm, friendly, attentive throughout the evening and full of smiles, the restaurant was beautiful and so comfortable and we... More
