Description: Located in historic Cherry Valley, The Grand Oak Steakhouse & Bar has been a Southern California destination for over a hundred years. The Grand Oak sits on 900 scenic acres at Highland Springs Resort, Riverside County’s first historical landmark. Surrounded by 20 acres of organic farmland, evenings in the summertime offer magnificent sunsets over fields of purple lavender. The property was originally established in 1884, and had served for a time as a stage coach stop along the Bradshaw Trail. Through the 1930s and 1940s it was a popular vacation spot, particularly for Hollywood actors and actresses. The interior of the restaurant proudly emphasizes the heritage of the resort’s past, some of the antiques decorating the dining room have been present for close to a century. Chef Stefan Weck has perfected his culinary craft in numerous Michelin-starred restaurants throughout Europe. Originally from Germany, Chef Stefan has developed a refreshingly unique menu.

Family looked for a good restaurant for Xmas Eve. Found this place had good reviews for the most part. Made a reservation about 2 months in advance. Had 6 adults and 4 kids in our party. I called a couple days before to confirm my reservation and I asked if they had a full menu and something for kids that... More

My husband, friends and I have come here quite a few times (want to say at least 4-5). We usually have a good experience, but we like to relax over drinks before dinner and leisurely order..some might realize a longer wait than we do because of that fact. Of the times we've gone, I'd say at least 3-4 experiences were... More

Just recently discovered this restaurant located in Cherry Valley, CA.. It is an "old timey" resort. Restaurant opened to the public three years ago. Pleasant decor, good music and beautiful view. Pricey, but very good fancy food. Most veggies grown on site and delicious homemade breads. Special occasions go to place. Check out their site.

We came here for Sunday brunch. We had the strawberry-rhubarb stuffed french toast (excellent), the farm potatoes (way too salty, but great texture), the scrambled eggs with toast (good), the german pancake (cakey, gummy texture), and coffee (good). The lavender syrup that they served with the french toast and german pancake was good, but way too strong of a non-complimentary... More

based on ratings and their internet presence made the trip from Laguna Brach. Sorry to say it is not worth it. Came for lunch. Wine glasses full of spots and lips. They poured my Justin in a new glas. The bar area showed two big hooks, where a picture used to be. On both sides there are two small TV... More

The menu is very nice, ranging from steaks and lamb, fish and even a burger. The food is top notch, the sides are not an afterthought, but are always well prepared. The staff here is excellent, and I always feel like I'm well taken care of. The location is unique, in the middle of a lavender farm. It's a little... More

My wife and I have been to the Grand Oak Steakhouse and Bar on several occasions for both lunch and dinner both on our own and with friends. We have always had excellent food. Five of us had dinner on our most current visit. The menu has a great selection from fish to steaks, including an excellent Lamb dish. A... More

Beautiful atmosphere, outstanding service, exquisite food and fantastic view of the valley. What else do you need to know? Oh, and prices are from appropriate to a good value ($25 prix fix menu option).

We arrived a bit early and were asked to wait at the bar. One of us had an alcoholic milk shake, a chocolate and raspberry martini, which had too much crushed ice in small pieces; the other of us had a glass of Wiens orange flavored champagne from Temecula that tasted more like an orange than champagne and whose bubbles... The value is poor. Ridiculous prices for what you get. Their attempt at fine dinning is pure failure. If you like the taste of Lavender and Rosemary in most everything then you may like the food. Really, we felt insulted as they are not what they represent. BJ's is far better from every aspect. The staff is nice but need... More
