Visited Red Hut this past weekend. We had a little bit of a wait but figured based on the reviews, it would be worth it. The food was good, orange juice tasted fresh, and had good portions. Some places get "done in" with great reviews. The Red Hut Cafe is one of those. Through the years, this has been THE place to go to for breakfast. Had breakfast with a couple of friends at the Red Hut Cafe and everything was quite good. It's a very unassuming little place, but the food and ambiance is well above average. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because while the food was above average, there wasn't anything about the restaurant that made it "excellent". more

Every trip to Tahoe should include a trip to the Red Hut Cafe, in either Lake Tahoe, or in Stateline. They have amazing breakfasts, and you'll be very happy if you order their strawberry waffle......very homey, and sometimes crowded with a wait, but well worth it! (in fact, the only drawback is that they only accept cash.) more

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat before heading home this past Sat. It is a great little mom n pop type diner with very good food. Just got back from Tahoe .. skiing was questionable at best .. so this gave us ample time for breakfast and a lunch at the Red Hut. Omelets (4 egg), biscuits and gravy, pancakes were just great!! Staff wonderful. It's small, so you might have to wait a bit for a seat but it's certainly worth it! Fair prices too! more
