My husband and I chose Evan's for our 10yr Anniv dinner. We were pleasantly surprised! The restaurant is romantic and charming...the service was great! The food was wonderful and the price is reasonable. I would recommend this place for anyone wanting fantastic food! Wouldn't bring children unless they are teens or older. more

Always dine at least once every time we visit Lake Tahoe. Wine selection is above average and the prices are very reasonable. Service was great and attentive. Chef Jimi does an outstanding presentation with fish. Do not miss the desserts. more

Very overrated. The food was bland, over-sauced and unimaginative; service was OK. Very disappointing overall and definitely not worth the money. more

If you like great food and an excellent atmosphere to go with it, then Evans is the place to go. Chef Jimi does wonders with his use of sauces and he is a food artist as well, not only was the food excellent, the presentation was a work of art. Even if you don't have room, have the desert. My... more

Our BEST dining experience in Lake Tahoe. We vist Tahoe every year and this is the first time we discovered Evans. The entire meal was incredible. Mushroom appetizers to die for, butterleaf salad was incredibly fresh with crumbled blue cheese and pecans. Our main course was pecan encrusted halibut. It was slighty encrusted with an amazing orange glaze surrounding the... more

This is not your everyday Cafe. We had dinner there a couple of weeks ago and the service and menu selections and execution were just flawless. Both the printed menu and the chalk-board menu that listed nightly specials offered a myriad of choices. We had the seared foie gras appetizer that was just outstanding. Our party of three then choose... more

I realize that once a restaurant hits #1 on this site for any given area, the reviews seem to get more harsh - probably largely based on unrealistic expectations. However, for Evan's being ranked #1 in the Tahoe area, we were not disappointed. The food was excellent. While the menu looked great, the daily specials were too good to pass... more

Definitely this place deserves all of the great reviews. The food quality is really superb and the atmosphere is charming. The staff was really great as well. We've been dining out quite a bit during our trip here in Lake Tahoe but so far this was our best meal. There is a big selection to choose from on the menu... more
