The Rose and Shamrock is a great "English" pub in the heart of Havelock North. With a huge selection of on-tap beers and a wonderful selection of great pub-grub food, This place always seems busy with locals and visitors alike by the looks of things which is a great sign for any village pub... read more

Never had a bad meal from this place. They do get very busy and waiting for ordered food can be slow at times but never had to wait more than 30 mins. Good value for money and great meal sizes. Nothing fancy just good honest pub food. Really popular!

This is a busy bar and therefore noisy and a bit of a wait for food. However it was very good and lots of choices. Large portion sizes. Would certainly come back.

Typical pub food. Big helpings suitable for hungry men. A good atmosphere but the food is not up to much.

Mistook the street for a restaurant one street over. But was in the door by then, and was both hungry and thirsty. Good range of beers. The food is Ok, pub food. Good service with bubbly staff.

Good pub food. Service good. Ambience in "Irish Pub" setting is excellent. Can be busy at peak times.

Great pub with great atmosphere - very popular but you can not make reservations so be early!! Friendly staff - good menu choices - servings a bit on the large size. Prices reasonable. Like all pubs can be noisy. Children welcome.
