An enjoyable experience

Four of us had one of the set menus which was very good indeed. The dishes were varied and tasty but none of them too spicy. The staff were very pleasant indeed. We had quite a wait to be served as they were very busy. One customer was unpleasant about this when he left, but the lady in charge... read more

Excellent meals, two nights in a row...one being a Sunday when everywhere else was closed! A definite recommendation when in Havelock North.

Our family of 4 had dinner here on Monday night. It was packed. We didnt have a reservation but were offered a table outside which was lovely since it was so hot. I had the beef massamum (sp), hubby had the mountain pork and the girls ordered off the kids menu - fish and chips and the thai platter. All... More

Recommended to us by Jeff and Diana at Havelock House which is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast in Havelock North. We really enjoyed the evening at Starlake Thai and the food was great.

Great food all made from fresh. Very good staff and atmosphere. Parking at the door. One of the best Thai restaurants I have been to. Would definitely return.

When Linda is working the place is a pleasure. This place never looked much so it took me a while to try it although I love Thai food. The food is generally good and tasty. The service has always been friendly but when Linda is working she always makes everyone very welcome especially if you get her sense of humour.... More

I brought $62 if cold takeaway food last night and even the chicken fried rice was tuff to eat. If we had sat down in the restaurant to eat, we would have sent it back.. We wont be going back in a hurry!!

This place is always full but finds a place for you. The staff are very jovial and pleasant. The menu is standard Thai and well presented and good. However, one great aspect is that the entrees have four items, spring roll, stuffed mushrooms etc. This is great when there are two of you and you don't need to decide who... More

Having had bad meals and takeaways a few years ago I must admit, I have avoided Starlake. Joined some colleagues for an early dinner recently and was pleasantly surprised. Friendly attentive staff and the food was good. Will try again.

Good Thai meal, reasonable prices too. Was yummy! Full of veggies which were cooked perfectly. The mild wasn't too spicy for those who prefer a mild flavour.
