Great coffee - but really expensive

I'm a total coffee addict, so I'm always excited to find a new cafe. I walked in and it looked promising, good atmosphere, funky little shop, large array of chocolates.....I was also starving...so I was pleased to see they had food. The coffee I ordered was average priced so no complaints there and... read more

Thanks for reviewing our cafe. I'm glad you enjoyed the quality of your food and coffee. It is absolutely possible not to tip. One simply bypasses the tipping option on the debit machine by programming 0% tip. The cookies are handmade with real butter and are large. The quality and the resources required to make them determines the price. Hope... More

A wonderful place on a cold afternoon. A soup to die for, great sandwiches, wonderful bread, every kind of coffee and hot chocolates and a friendly, welcoming staff. Definitely worth a visit!

The Claim is one of my favorite spots in Whitehorse for a healthy, made from scratch lunch or snack. They usually have 3 choices of soups with at least one being gluten free and vegetarian. You can order it with a bun or have a cup of soup and half a sandwich. Good selection of specialty coffees, but my favorite... More

Thank you very much. I am pleased that you have had good experience at the Claim. Our treats are, indeed, more expensive than some cafes. They are all handmade with love a really good ingredients! More

The Claim has been around for about 20 years. I played at the opening when it was first intended as a European stand-up coffee bar. Decades later and different owners later, it is by far my favourite cafe. The soups are filling and delicious, reasonably priced and you can get tasty gluten-free bread to go with it. Fast-as-humanly-possible service, pleasant... More

This cafe is the best coffee shop/lunch spot in town, and the prices reflect it... unless you go on a Tuesday when you can get a hot bean beverage for two bucks which helps to off set the $10 sandwiches.

$12.00 for a pre-wrapped, tasteless panini (the size of a deck of cards) which left me still hungry and wondering why I had bothered at all to insult my stomach with it? The coffee was so-so. My husband said his cinnamon bun was average. The cashier did not know how to process my MasterCard and had to call for help.... More

Thank you for letting us know that you were not happy with your experience. If you had the gluten free panini (which I'm assuming from its price you did), we shortly thereafter reduced its price as we had started using better (but smaller) gf bread. The problem with processing cards is, unfortunately, one that comes up all too regularly in... More

A group of us had breakfast all week, and coffees. The breakfast panini and burritos were delicious. I lived for the pumpkin spice latte! Everyone enjoyed the different scones and muffins each day, including the gluten free option. The restaurant had nice seating and the staff was friendly. The only weird thing was the bathroom was in another building (??).... More

Yes, the bathroom is an issue that we inherited from the original owner (when this was the only coffee shop/catering company in town). Not ideal, we know. Hopefully, we can find a solution. In the meantime we thank you for your patience and understanding. More

Best coffee in town so far! Double shot if you are in for a strong one. Cookies, free water, melted tuna sandwich, you name it. Nice little place for lunch!

In the red building with the huge yellow musher and dogsled mural. Very Clean. Delightful customers. Staff is cheerful and happy to assist with menu option. Sandwiches and a specialty chocolate area is a perfect combination with tea or coffee. Breakfast was good, A bit pricey. Truffles were scrumptious.

Both chocolate and carrot cakes are must-trys - decadent. A lot of the squares are also amazing. I particularly like the pumpkin and orange-pecan. All the food is high quality, exceptionally flavourful, and use sophisticated recipes and combinations. Prices are high but the quality is there. Great place to go for a splurge.
