We stopped in Trois Rivières on our way from Québec City to Montréal and were hoping to have a pleasant and original lunch. We had checked Tripadvisor as well as we the menu on the restaurant website. When we arrived at 1:45 we could not recognize the place. We asked to be seated inside but were told the inside was... This was our second time at Poivre Noir, and it will be the second of many. We had oysters with a shallot and saffron sauce – the combination of the oysters and the mignonette was like nothing I had ever had – exquisite. My main was a half lobster – succulent, beautiful sauce. The wine suggested was perfect. Compared to... More

It is however the top restaurant in Trois-Rivières.A bit fancy for some, somewhat expensive, but a great view of the St-Laurent river.

Lunch at the Poivre Noir was a wonderful experience, from the warm welcome through the creative and delicious plates, to the view of the St. Lawrence on a sunny Spring day. The prices were very reasonable. We liked that the dessert was not included as sometimes an entrée, main and dessert can be too much, but meal had been so... More

This place is great. The food is absolutly delicious, we had the 5 courses meal, everything was very good. The place is classy, it was a quiet evening, we had a great view of the St-Lawrence River. I highly recommend the place.

Find your way to this unique place; it's worth the search. Although portions are modest, the flavours are not. This was perhaps the 8th visit and far from the last. Road trips from Montreal to Quebec are timed so that we will be in Trois-Rivières at lunch time. Menu varies based on what this very talented chef has available from... More

I had a 3 courses meal for diner. The food was very good and delicate. The only thing is the portion are very small. 3 courses meal costed me 80$ without wine and I was still hungry when I left.

Discovered this gem from a September 2012 article by Rochelle Lach in the Montreal Gazette. Just a five minute walk from our hotel, this upscale, avant guarde fine dining experience is located on the boardwalk overlooking the mighty St. Lawrence River. Get a seat in the window to watch the ships pass during your meal. Service is slow and elegant... More
