Hands down this place had some of the worst service ever. Waitress disappeared for long periods of time and was intent on taking care of tables ordering lots of wine. But as bad as that was, the food was worse. My wife had lobster that was tinged in green and like rubber. Side dishes were salty. Prices were high. Stay... More

We were starving after haven driven up from Quebec City. We stumbled onto this place, sat inside because the wind was enough to carry Dorothy away, ordered hot tea and a bowl of Bisque. Wow! The bisque was loaded with flavor, the baguette that accompanied it was fresh, and the tea was nice and hot. The next day we found... More

Imagine if you will a French seaside seafood restaurant of 30 years ago presided over by competent ladies of a certain age and you have the Galouine. Good menu and wine choice including Quebec cheeses but slightly let down by chewy lobster. Possibly a bit on the pricey side for what it is – we dined very well at a... More

We had dinner at this restaurant to taste some good local fish. Although the helpings were large the meal was just disappointing. The fish was likely frozen despite very high prices. The waitresses were kind but unable to deliver the ingredients of the cakes that in our case were necessary as our kid is allergic to nuts. Definitely not recommendable... More

On Saturday October 5th we were a party of 4 adults and had dinner at La Galouine. The wine we had chosen (Domaine de l'Orpailleur) was unavailable because 'it was the end of the season'. The next choice, we were told, of Quebec wine was the Pinot Blanc of Mission Hill. The waitress was unaware that this wine is a... More

We had been staying at L"Hotel Tadoussac and had eaten there this fall. It was expensive and very disappointing so we struck out to eat elsewhere. We stopped here for a snack and a glass of wine and the food was PHENOMENAL. We decided to go back for dinner. It was just as magnifique...local fare and local cheeses......friendly staff and... Food is ok and clearly offers a variety of authentic Quebec cuisine. Ambience is poor with tacky decor in parts of the restaurant. But it is totally overpriced, poor value.

The food here was average, not worth the prices. Lots of seafood options on the menu and some really expensive special platters that didn't seem worth trying.

We ordered a lobster each. When it came, it was dry and tasteless. They said they get it live, then cook it and freeze it. I wonder how old it was when they cooked it. My companion sent hers back and I should have too. What a waste of $40! The rice served alongside was tasteless and rather dry. My... More

We ate dinner here. The food was good, service was great but it was very pricey. Our bill was over $100 and we were pretty conservative.
