This was the best restaurant in Tadoussac, we had lunch and breakfast there and was very happy with the food and the service, we made the mistake of going to another restaurant and where very disappointed that we did not have our supper at Chez Mathilde, the staff there were very friendly i would recommend this to any one who... Came here for breakfast; food and service were good, not great. The setting on the patio in the morning sun was very pleasant.

Live music, fabulous food, delightful servers, home grown veggies. Wonderful seafood curry, absolutely tender deer, smoked meats, and the best salad ever. Make a reservation - crowded in season. Base and piano perform all dinner long. Nice. Contrasts sharply to the outdoor wonders of Tadoussac. Treat yourself!!

We just had dinner in this little gem and thoroughly enjoyed it! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, interesting and tasty meals, and a cool jazz trio. We'll be back tomorrow night for sure :)

We had a very good dinner at the Chez Mathilde but it might not be the right choice if you are really hungry. The portions are really well presented but sometimes ridiculously small, especially the appetizers (such as the marinated salmon). However, the main dishes are really good, the crab is worth the price, the staff is very friendly, the... More

We went there for lunch and all had the poutine which was OK. The orange/harissa sauce is very exotic, however the taste is somewhat special. If you never tasted a regular poutine before, you might want to try another one than the one from Mathilde for your 'first impression'. The price however is very correct (about 6,25$). If you go... Over priced, under staffed. More about presentation than food. If one doesn't speak french what one orders, gets is a crap shoot.

We had lunch here last weekend and we were astonished by how poor the experience was, given the other reviews. Everything was just terrible! It's a place where you seat yourself, which makes no sense whatsoever especially on a Saturday at lunchtime when the whale boat gets back to town. The tables are uncomfortably close together, to the point where... More

After reading mixed reviews, we entered at dinner time expecting good (not great) food and slow service. To our delight we had excellent service, phenomenal food and wine, and lovely music provided by a live pianist and cellist. PROS: - Small but interesting wine list. We opted for an Ontario Riesling ($60) that was crisp and perfectly complimented our meals.... More

We had lunch on the patio. This food was quite good and the service was friendly and efficient. the patio does not overlook the fjord, but it nevertheless quite nice.
