I recently posted a rather critical review of this restaurant but I have thought over my review and would like to restate my views. While the dining experience was not what we expected I have no question that this was an exception and not the rule at La Pain Beni. A significant contributor to my reconsideration has be the frequent... More

I am the son of a Royal Canadian navy cook for the officers, let me tell my expectations in any restaurant are always very high , but what a surprise at the Pain Beni everything was top notch. Service was excellent! Imagine a server with a great English but with a French accent. My wife found it very romantic. For... More

The food was great and the exterior terrace is very cozy. I had a great lunch meal from the soup to dessert. Definitely will try again for an evening meal next time.

We had just finished walking around the Governor generals' promenade, strolled by the the Chateau Frontenac, watched a wonderful street performance, and were absolutely starved. We were looking for a good meal and a place that we felt comfortable in tourist walking clothes, in other words a little tired and ready for the wash. There was no raised eyebrows, the... More

We went for breakfast. It is a very small restaurant in the Hotel St. Anne. Service was good and so was the food. Reasonably priced.

First, the service here is wonderful -- but the food is even better. From the soups to the appetizers to the main dishes (we were too full for dessert), everything was delicious and the unique flavor combinations were so creative and fun. I'm not sure I've had a better meal anywhere.

I had a smoked bison pizza, which was good. This restaurant is located near the Hotel Sainte-Anne where I stayed.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this highly rated restaurant right next to the lovely small hotel we were staying in. We enjoyed dinner when we arrived and breakfast each morning. Some of the best food we have had on our weeklong trip! Always crowded but never too long a wait. The food is fantastic - fit for foodies in... More

This restaurant is right opposite Chateau Frontenac, and so would probably get a good trade regardless, given the number of people walking by. But it tries and succeeds to be an excellent restaurant nonetheless. It is excellent. It is so good that we opted to explore the entire menu by returning for three nights. The food is simple in many... More

my wife and i had dinner here on the last of four nights in Quebec City on the concierge's recommendation. the food was phenomenal and the service was otustanding. also, the price was pretty reasonable for the qualityof the food. I cant say enough about how good, fresh, and flavorful the food was. a great choice.
