Having read the reviews here we selected Le Pain Beni for our last night in the city. The dishes I recalled which we tried included lobster and foie gras appetizers, wild boar, pizza, filet and lamb mains ... all were wonderful. The flavours were excellent and the portions were just right. We did not bother with the "$18.95 complete meal"... more

I ordered the complete meal, which comes with a choice of soup or salad, an entree, a dessert, and tea or coffee. I was told the soup of the day was parsnip soup. Never having tried parsnips, I decided to give it a try. When it arrived it had an orange hue, which I thought was strange. It tasted like... more

This treasure was recommended by the concierge at our hotel. It was excellent. In fact, we ate there for dinner twice in 4 days. The foie gras melted in my mouth and the grill quail delicious. Second night red tuna médaillon with Pepper ice cream in hot bell Pepper humm… and poached lobster with escargot and garlic gnocchi mmmm… Main... more

Others have reviewed Le Pain Beni highly, we too. We'd only add that the staff were very accommodating of some dietary restrictions our party had - no fuss at all. more

As I needed to go to Quebec city for the week end, I wanted to give a shot to this restaurant following trip advisor's community recommendations. I have to say, sadly, that it was quite a disappointment. The only positive thing about this place is the location. Regarding the food itself, among the 3 of us, some had some decent... more

I had such a nice surprise walking into the Pain Béni...small, unpretentious, with excellent service and amazingly fresh food. Being French myself, from Bordeaux, I can tell you that the food that was served to me would have put to shame some of our best South Western regional restaurants! I can say I am a pretty difficult person to please... more

First and formost I have eaten in some of the finer $$$$ restaurants in North America, but I must admit I never had wild boar before last night - Unbelievable - Served over a creamy risotto that contrasted and highlighted the texture and flavour of this wonderful delicacy, it shone through with a beautiful deep rich reduction sauce - I... more

We were staying at the Auberge Place d'Armes, which is in the same building and actually uses the restaurant for the breakfast. The restaurant is a chic, nice and small place where the food was simply great. We chose the foie gras and a very original grilled romaine salad with a tasty butterfish. As entrees we took lamb and halibut.... more
