A fun place to people watch while enjoying a meal

What attracted us to this place was the lovely hedge of fresh plants providing a wall for the outdoor seating area. We opted to sit outside and enjoyed watching the artists sketch on the other side of our privacy hedge. The trout carpaccio was good and service was friendly

Centrally located and ideal for a quick break. The food and the waiter was great and on a whim we tried the Creme Brulee which was excellent! The only disappointment was the person who greeted us at the door. She seemed to reluctantly let us in (the outdoor seating area was full she said), and then handed each of us... More

This restaurant belonged to our hotel Auberge Place d'Armes. We lunch there twice. Lamb tacos were really good, although not a taco the way we define it in the States. Also had the sweet potato soup at our waiter's recommendation and it was delicious.

Stopped here for an early drink on arrival in Quebec. Decided we might eat, ordered bread which was lovely so looked at the menu. Dishes were unusual and it was difficult to decide what to eat, in the end the house specialities of bison tartare and boudin noir in pastry were ordered. Neither dish disappointed, beautifully presented, interesting and different... More

Thank you for your review! We are happy to read that both of you enjoyed yourself in our restaurant. As we said before, the bread come from a local and artisanal bakery and it's fresh everyday for our customers delight. We are also pleased to read you loved the tartare and our homemade boudin noir!!! Thanks again! Le Pain Béni More

We are so glad we tried this restaurant . It was attached to our hotel the Auberge Place de Armes and so we enjoyed a complimentary breakfast here daily ....which was fresh and delicious. We didn't anticipate also dining here for dinner but after a disastrous first night meal at Cafe de Paris ( do read my TA review on... More

This place is the perfect location to sit and enjoy and appetizer and cocktail on the patio and unwind (and people watch). The staff is amazing- nothing short of an amazing experience.

This excellent restaurant was part of our charming hotel, Auberge Place d'Armes. Breakfasts were included and they were fantastic, with excellent service. We also ate a lunch and dinner there, all superb. For this restaurant, I would recommend eating inside the restaurant, as the pedestrian street is very crowded. We preferred the quieter inside. Wonderful French food in a casual... More

The restaurant has a very limited eclectic menu. My wife ordered the veal and my daughter and I the spaghetti carbonara. They were the worst dishes we ever tasted. The carbonara came with pork and arugula as advertised. Except that my daughter asked for the dish without the arugula. When it was served to her, the dish had greens in... More

We are sorry! It is a usual thing in France to serve the egg raw on top of the plate. The yolk is than running which make the sauce creamier. Our server should have understood that it was not ok when he brought the plate, but, as we all are, he is only human. Please never never hesitate to mention... More

We had breakfast, we we were staying at Place D'Armes. While our choices were limited for complimentary breakfast, our dishes were well made, hot, fresh and delicious. My partner enjoyed his bread pudding, which is apparently their speciality! I tasted it and regretted my decision of a traditional breakfast. My breakfast was also quite good, but that bread pudding...I salivate... More

This was our final-night-in-Old-Quebec splurge as selected by our almost-16-year-old girls. We had a wonderful time at the sidewalk seating, watching everything that happens in this high energy area. The food and service were perfect and my daughter with celiac was delighted that they had "fantastic" gluten-free bread for her to go with her steak. (She hardly ever orders steak,... More

We are more than happy to read your review! Thank you for having it all written down. Our staff do the best they can to make everybody feel comfortable. We think it's important to accomodate appropriately those with food issues, and most of all, it should be tasteful too! Thank you so much again, Le Pain Béni More
