Nice little neighborhood place

Cafe Sirocco was a nice little place. The salmon tartare I had there was out of this world. I wouldn't walk all the way from the Old Town to dine there. But if you are staying at a hotel around the convention center or in the Faubourg St Jean Baptiste, it is a nice option.

We did not have any tapas and went instead for the regular menu. Food looked exciting on the menu but was poorly executed. Kids had the venison flank steak and found it unexceptional. I had the osso bucco and there was very little meat. My wife had the the duck parmentier and although it tasted good, it looked like grits.... More

Friendly place with atmosphere; The parmentier de canard confit was like comfort food - tasty but a little bit too salty My husband had veal osso bouco - perfect in every way (the veal, not my husband!) Sadly, our friends ordered the bavette de cerf - and it was overcooked, too thin, with a sauce that didn't fit the meal... More

Started our vacation with lunch at Sirocco, ate there twice more. We always feel that the waiter can make and break an experience. Our waiter made this place out of this world.

I wish we would have taken a picture! We arrived in town later than expected on a Friday and had a nice 9ish pm dinner. We ordered a pitcher of sangria and a wide assortment of tapas. They are priced/ordered by the bite so we ordered 2 of about 6-7 things and it was perfect to share. The waiter (Carl)... More

Everything was above my expectations, service was excellent and professional. I went there to have The Best Tartare, and it definetaly was! We got a promo: 2$ for 3 tapas if you bought a martini. Wonderful night in great company, on the terrace... Nothing bad to say. Would definetily recommand and will return!

If it is tapas you are looking for, the cafe has extensive choices. However, if you want a meal, don't bother. The ossobucco is a huge departure from the norm. Boulliabaisse had large chunks of fish, but little of the other traditional ingredients. Our waiter was snippy to us from the States.

I went there on a tuesday night. They had a promotion on tapas ( 1$ each). We ordered 12 each and it was enough for a meal. The variety was great (vegetarian, seafood, meat, etc.) . The only down side was the waiter. He seemed to not care about us. But I do not blame the restaurant for that because... More

The atmosphere is OK but, the food is at best mediocre. Some of the menue items were sub par. Wine and coctails selection ... reasonable.

The tapas - which are ridiculously inexpensive - are a must-try. I would recommend ordering chef's choice; you will be very pleasantly surprised. All in all, the service was excellent and the dinner was memorable.
