Great end to a great trip

Looking for a special restaurant to end our wonderful vacation in Quebec City, we took a guidebook recommendation for L'Echaude and were not disappointed. Very friendly welcome and super location to explore the lower town. We had a relaxed lunch, with perfectly timed service

Great meal, professional and friendly staff made this a wonderful experience. We would definitely try it again when we were in QC. I had the main beet salad--which was delicious--a perfect light meal. My husband had the halibut in an interesting sauce. Portions were european and just the right size. We felt like we were in Paris. nice decor, good wine... More

We had no reservations and had to wait only fifteen minutes but we were not shown to our seats, they we're pointed out to us. It took fifteen minutes to get our menus. The chair backs have you leaning so far back it's very uncomfortable and everyone was banging into the back of everyone else. But we both noticed the... More

We were lulled in by the pretty outdoor setting - a lovely outdoor setting with lots of plants and fairy lights. The menu seems good, but the mains were a bit hit and miss. A delicious tartare and nice desserts, but the paella was terrible. Also, I would only suggest sitting outside. The atmosphere inside is rather sterile and depressing... More

This was perhaps the most disappointing meal of our 5 day trip to Quebec City. The maître was rude to me and the next couple in line but maybe he was having a bad day. Seated very quickly even though the place was very busy. The waiter was very nice and answered any questions that we had. The appetizers came... More

The food was solidly good French Bistro food. The waitstaff was fabulous. The only un-French thing about it was the noise! Sit outside if you can, as it can get stuffy inside during peak dinner hours. On that note, make a reservation, even if you do it only 30 minutes in advance.

The menu, service and food at this restaurant was stunning. We arrived a little later than anticipated due to heavy traffic in the area, but the restaurant was able to seat us almost immediately - without the 4th member of our party. We ordered from both the seasonal menu and the bistro menu. On one menu (Bistro I think) there... More

L'Echaude has a great location and a very intimate feel for both inside and outside seating. We loved the timing of the service, because even though we were in a very busy restaurant, we never felt rushed, which made for a very satisfying and relaxing dining experience. We enjoyed rose, white wine, artic char appetizer and both ordered fish entrees... More

We sat at the bar and had a lovely meal. The bartender was fun to chat with. We liked the neighborhood. It had a very local vibe.
