L'Echaude was a great find after walking the winding cobblestone streets, a visit to the Musee de la Civilisation (almost across the street), and a fabulous women's boutique, Jean Grenier! We stopped initially for a glass of wine from their excellent list, but ended up having a divine lunch, and the best Steak et Frite in the city! Enjoyed an... More

The service, the food, the outdoor seating, was all classically French. Would go again in a heartbeat!

Well-priced, pleasant staff - perhaps all the hard surfaces make it a bit noisy, but that's the only downside.

The food was excellent. I had a scallop ceviche that was divine and a fabulous earthy and utterly delicious soup with lobster broth and lots of seafood. The restaurant was busy but was still accommodating about my request for a side of vegetables. The service was not particularly warm but it was professional, which is all I really expect, especially... More

We came across this popular spot on our first night in Quebec City, while exploring the cobblestone streets of the Old Port. We didn't have a reservation but were seated fairly quickly on the heated patio. Service and food was exceptional. It was a great place for people watching and soaking up the ambiance of the area. The restaurant was... More

Recently shared a memorable meal on a lovely late Fall night due to the welcoming of Wilson. Ridiculously fast service and everyone was attentive and "on". Great restaurant with lovely patio and people watching. I too , tend to judge a restaurant by bread...... so good. Worth a sit! Maureen from wiscosin

Found this restaurant via a local. Our group of 9 received excellent service, outstanding bread and the variety of our selections all met with rave reviews. The salmon tartar was excellent as was the selection of three entrees ( first courses which was a steal) The seafood soup was the best I have ever had. Everyone was pleased with their... More

We drove into Quebec at 6pm, asked our hotel clerk for a recommendation and ended up eating here... In short -- fantastic! Our waitress, Sophie, was terrific -- made good suggestions and checked in quite often to make sure that we had what we needed (we did). The food was great -- we split the appetizers, salmon tartar for my... More

We went in to this restaurant and were sitting for 15 minutes at our table without the menu.We decided to leave as none of the waiters were interested in us, the place was not as busy as other restaurants in the old town.Worst service we have experienced in years.

Whilst in Quebec recently we had occasion to dine in this restaurant. We can say that the atmosphere, service and quality of food and wine served was beyond the pale. We were late in arriving and ALL TABLES in the restaurant were either occupied or reserved for later diners. Instead of being told there were no more room we were... More
