We had a week of skiing and eating in Quebec and liked this place so much that we came for dinner twice.

We were staying in the old city and decided to head down to the lower part to find dinner. Stumbled on this place and loved the quaint atmosphere plus the bonhomie and welcome of the wait staff. The menu is surprisingly large and we (4 of us: 2 adults and 2 boys, 11 and 9) began with orders of... read more

We spent a week in Quebec City and had many delicious meals but our dinner at L'Echaude was our favorite! The food was amazing, the atmosphere quaint and the staff attentive and fun! Creative menu and excellent wine selection.

Ok so I went in not knowing what to expect and wow was I in for a pleasant surprise. The entrance is a bit odd and unfriendly but once in the athmosphere completely engulfed me. The waiters were exceptionaly friendly and helpful when it came time to order. The wine selected was proprietary to the establishment and that added to... More

We had dinner at L'Echaude this evening. I had the scallops and my husband had a three appetizer combo (Warm Goat cheese salad, fish and mussel stew, and Arctic char). Everything was very good. The atmosphere was quiet, but very comfortable. All of the wait staff were very friendly and helpful. We were staying in lower town, so this restaurant... More

One of my favourite Quebec restaurants. Always an interesting and different menu. The waiters work really well as a team so nothing is forgotten. They aim to please. I love their scallops. Interesting appetizers. Like one of the other posters said I am surprised this place is not rated higher. Great food with being pretentious. For the quality the price... More

Nice restaurant in the lower part of the old city. Excellent bistro food, Charcuterie platter, Mint & pea soup, Beef tartare and a great seared tuna! A bit noisy at times but still a nice restaurant to enjoy!

Our waiter made this meal extra special. Dan was amazing. He was super personable, entertaining and very knowledgeable on the menu. We tried the trio tartare, rabbit soup, seared foie gras, flank steak, veal trio, tuna, lasagna, duck, oysters, goat cheese app chocolate desert, sugar pie and creme burle. Everything was awesome but the foie gras, rabbit soup and flank... More

I am surprised to see that this restaurant has not been rated higher here. It was rated close to the top in Frommer's 2014 guide to the old city. We went for brunch Dec 27 with 1:30 PM reservations and arrived with only one table available, ours. We could chose from the brunch or the regular menu. My wife had... More

short walk from hotel, tired legs and no real plan led us here!!! An act of kindness from the food gods. We were squeezed in at the bar without reservations last minute, joined by two gentleman of considerable bonhomie whose dinner stretched over a suitably French amount of wine. The food was fabulous, the evening was a delight for atmosphere... More

This is our first night, first visit to Quebec City. We had just arrived and just a short walk around the corner from our hotel, Auberge St Antoine, we thought, why not try this restaurant. The outside was beautiful decorated for Christmas and it was warm and cosy inside with quite a few diners. The waiters were friendly and most... More
