Went for dinner on our last night, July 29, in Quebec City on a recommendation that the food was excellent. Thank goodness the food WAS excellent but the whole meal was spoilt by one bad waiter. From the minute we were seated, our server seemed distracted even though the restaurant wasn't full. I decided not to order any alcohol but... More

Went to L'Echaude with a group of 8 - sat on outdoor patio on a warm summer evening. Good attentive service. Delicious food. Most of the 8 ordered different meals. Stand-outs were salmon tartare, fish of the day (pike) and duck confit. Fun evening on a warm summer night.

Went here for our splurge dinner for our night in Old Quebec. It was great! A very pleasant atmosphere, with breezes coming in off the river, and interesting street life passing by. I also enjoyed the creative decoration, with big pots of greenery hanging in the windows. The waiters were friendly and attentive, although I blanched a little when he... More

Restaurants in Quebec City are expensive relative to similar size places in the US, and this is no exception . We went here for lunch and had the steak frites and salad and both were great. If you go after 9pm they give you 21% off the meal.

Even during the busy Labor Day week end, they found a table for my wife and I. We started with the assiette of charcuterie for appetizer my wife had the beef tartare, she loved it, and I had the duck confit...perfect! Great wine list and we chose a burgundy, pairing very well with our dishes. Price was reasonable given the... More

We had dinner at L' Echaude and it was the only disappointment on our trip of 10 days in Montreal and Quebec City. The appetizers were delicious, but our entrees were flavorless. I had salmon and my husband had another fish, which he did not enjoy.

Had a lunch and dinner last week. Both were well presented and very good. The Steak frites was a generous portion and cooked as requested. Great frites! Good service. Lovely patio dining in lower town somewhat away from the heavy tourist area.

Friendly, busy bistro in lower town. Local ingredients inspire the palate. Arctic Char, Venison, Duck..all excellent. Service was brisk but efficient. It's a busy bistro with lots of walk ins (be prepared to queue or better yet make a reservation in advance). Desserts were excellent.

There was a queue when we arrived, so took this to be a good thing. Everyone seemed to rushing about, so we put our name on the list and waited for a table. And waited... Finally, we were taken indoors and given the menu and a glass of water. We were just about to order when 2 waiters came over... More

Service if you are an English speaker is appalling. We were deliberately ignored,as were other English speakers, and preference given to Québécois. The food is very good but it is very pricey.overall not worth it just to be insulted all evening
