A terrific restaurant in old Quebec City

We booked a reservation at the Bistro for our anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed. Food was delicious and the service was great. The onion soup was really good and the sweet bread dish was delicious. I wish I could go back and try their elk burger. Next time...

We decided last minute to try this restaurant on a Sunday night. Given the somewhat touristy location we weren't sure what to expect. What we found was a gem of a restaurant with friendly staff, fantastic food, and a great atmosphere. Our waiter, Raphael, was perfect: funny, attentive and informative. We tried the fondue which was excellent and had the... More

Wandering the lower old town at dusk on a December evening and finding ourselves ready for a sit down and hot food the Frontenac concierge managed to get us a table at the Bistro Sous le Fort. This very pleasant and very small restaurant was a treat, and one I hope to go back to on another trip to QC.... More

The food here is hit-or-miss (fabulous beef burger, good French onion soup, "meh" elk burger and roast chicken), but dessert is where this tiny place really shines. Best of all is the maple pudding (think "bread pudding" or "plum pudding", not the viscous American chocolate stuff). It's bathed in warm maple goodness, made even better by the fresh cream that... Went there four times in as many days just because the place made me happy. Great service, tiny little gem down a cobblestone street. I will make sure to visit this wonderful spot the next time I'm in Quebec City!

Our greeting and dining experience regarding our waiter was one reason that Le Fort was a good night out. Our appetizer's were Escargot & French Onion soup both very tasty, I had the Duck Confit that I thoroughly enjoyed, Liz had the Steak which was standard fare. We enjoyed our meal and will return when in this beautiful City.

While walking around this neighborhood we came across Bistro Sous le Fort and are very pleased that we had lunch here. The restaurant is small, seating about 30 people, but bright and airy with a pleasant modern decor. The menu has something for everyone – four of us enjoyed bison burgers, salmon with a citrus sauce, and fish and chips.... More

This was in a wonderful location to stop for lunch when shopping in Lower Town. They served a nice variety of food including a delicious Elk Burger.

Chose the Bistro based on reviews, and its location in the unbelievably cute neighborhood of Petit Champlain. We were very happy- the decor is minimal and modern, the food delicious and well-presented. The menu was mostly French classics ( I had sweetbreads), but with a lighter touch- everything was very fresh and colorful, and not over-sauced or over-cooked. My teen... More
