It was a drizzly afternoon and we had just visited the fabulous indoor Farmers Market off Quai St. Andre when we came across this small neighborhood eatery on rue St. Paul in a block of industrial-type buildings. No tourists here, just local business people and shop keepers. It was a simple lunch with a fish soup and salad, but very... More

Having studied for a year in the south of France a couple of decades ago, I was delighted to find this restaurant. Our evening there exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere is warm and inviting - perfect for a romantic dinner in a cozy sort of way. We had a lovely table covered in a rich Provenical fabric. Our waiter gave... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at this lovely French restaurant. We ordered the prix fix menu and the food exceeded our expectations. High quality and very flavorful preparations with a nice wine list. In lower town, just down the street from our hotel - Hotel des Coutellier. The menu is very inexpensive and the atmosphere was pleasant - we sat... More

We had several items that we agreed were the best we ever had. Tender escargot with a light cream sauce and salmon tartare that exploded with flavors. My spouse and true foodie had sweetbreads so tender he could cut with a fork paired with scalloped potatoes julienne carrots and steamed cauliflower. I had the bouillabaisse which was in a fish... We came here very tired after walking around Quebec and they were so welcoming and friendly. The menu was perfect--I can recommend the escargot and lamb in particular, but my family were also very happy. The wine (not terribly expensive) that we had chosen was not available, but the proprietor steered us to another in the same range that was... More

We found the restaurant while wandering around QC, trying to escape the crowds. We were attracted by the charming decor, and were the first guests of the evening. The host was very welcoming, and we had an excellent yet simple dinner from the table d'hôte menu. It was a first class meal in very relaxing and pleasant surroundings, and I'll... More

Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere of Provance! The owner is so nice. Service great. We all had the Table of the Day and were very pleased. As is the French tradition, the meal took 3 hours which was great to share time and stories with our friends!
