Very nice but not spectacular

I always judge a restaurant on how well they do the little things...service spectacular/ creativity. ..really what is more creative than fois Gras Brule? ...ambiance...wonderful and warm but I just cant get past how poorly they grilled the calamari...toughest I have ever eaten. We had the luck to find this hidden jewel in Québec city by chance. The ambience is lovely, the staff top professionel and the menu offers you classes French haute-cuisine prepared the way it ought to be. The wine list is carefully introduced by the lovely somelier. You get what you pay for - and a lot more I would... More

We chose this restaurant because of great reviews and went there as a group of five on our first night in Quebec. We were seated in the very eclectic, boisterous but pleasant back room. We ordered cocktails and waited over 45 minutes for them. They were miniscule pours but that may Canadian rules of alcohol (?). While our waiter was... More

This restaurant had very good, creative food, but you are seated differently based on how well dressed you are, and whether or not you ask to be seated in the outdoor space. Standard seating for tourists was in the front room. Most locals and well dressed people were seated in the rear and on the patio.

Bonjour, It's a pleasure to read that our cuisine has been appreciated. We are sorry if you felt some sort of preference based on a dress code for the seating. Be sure that we do our best to seat everyone according to their request. The four season garden is the most popular room for celebrations and special occasions; still every... More

It was a celebration dinner for two. We arrived around 845 pm and were able to get a table without a rservation on Thursday night. The place was otherwise full. From the moment we entered we knew it would be a great place. Service was impecable and the staff easily switched to speaking English for us. The food was exceptional... More

I reserved a week before for our 5th year anniversary. I was quite hesitant given some of the bad reviews I read, however after much searching I choose this restaurant and must say I was very happy that I did so. Everything was incredible, from the moment we arrived we were pleasantly greeted at the door and guided to our... More

The trouble with being on your own in a fancy, expensive, busy restaurant on a Friday night, is if the starter takes 45 minutes to arrive and the main another 45 after that, I get bored and grumpy. So I drank a bit too much (on an empty stomach) and nibbled at the gluten free chips - I am coeliac... More

Dear monsieur Bourne, I enjoyed very much ready your comment even if I feel sorry that we made to wait so long between each service. I sincerely thank you on the behalf of our team for your comprehension going through the evening; managing to still appreciate the flavors you were waiting for. Hopefully next time will be more likely a... More

We went there as a large group to celebrate a birthday. We were seated in the "garden room" surrounded by fanciful murals, glitzy mirrors and crystal teardrop chandeliers. The waiter was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, and our service was excellent. The lobster bisque with crab cake was decadent and delicious. I followed this with Quebec red deer with elderberries, which... More

Beautiful room, the winter garden room is done in pinks, purples and with hanging plants. Service is attentive and well-paced. The wine list is extensive and expensive. We had a half bottle of Chablis, and a bottle of red, plus a glass of Sauterne for my starter. I began with the foie gras done 5 ways - OMG foie gras... More

My wife and I and 2 other couples dined at his lovely restaurant recently while in Quebec City. And my oh my all of the comments on TA and from locals all lived up to their lofty predictions.
