best filet mignon ever

A friend who knew I was going to Quebec City told me that I have to have a filet at Le Continental. It was amazing. I have had a steak in NYC, San Francisco, Dallas, Kansas City, etc. Nothing compares to the filet at Le Continental. They cook it table side in a copper skillet. The secret seems... read more

This is a tourist trap. The food would have been ok-ish if the price was 40% lower. What got me was that all sides were the same for many different dishes. I got the sweetbreads, my wife got veal, I spied on a neighbor's steak.... All had the same sides. The fish was just a bit different, had rice instead... More

This was a fabulous special occasion restaurant. Having much of your food cooked at the table was fun and interesting. The steaks were some of the best we have ever had and we are from Texas and eat a lot of beef. The service was impeccable and they had lots of 1/2 bottles of wine which we find helpful because... The service is quite refined, and the servers are incredibly well trained. The setting really needs an upgrade. It is probably ten years out of date. Our food was solid. Don't miss their signature fillet.

This restaurant was recommended to us by two friends. It is extremely expensive, traditional. Service was excellent. I was there with my husband. If you are not willing to spend $50 for a flambé entree, don't bother to go. Plan on spending $300 to $500 for a couple, and go for it full steam ahead or do not bother. I... More

We enjoyed a special lunch at Le Continental and felt like royalty. The table clothes and napkins are all cloth. The waiters dressed in tuxedos. A special place for lunch. We had the spaghetti and delicious shrimp. We started with a great salad, beautifully garnished and decorated. It was hard to decide if the hazelnut cake or the St. Honore... More

First let me say that the Continental is one of our favorite restaurants in Quebec, we try to stop by and have a great meal every visit. Over the years we have had great food and over the top service and this trip was no different. The escargot and foie gras appetizers were superb. My wife had a fantastic veal... More

DH and I originally had dinner at this restaurant on our first trip to Quebec City back in the late 70's, early 80's as we cannot remember the year of that trip. It was memorable all these years later and did not revisit on a previous trip when we travelled with our children so we were anxious to revisit this... More

We were a group of 20 in a private room on a Friday night. The menu is varied and the food was quite good, but the service was slow, slow, slow. None of us planned on a 4 hour dinner!

Visited Le Continental for a dinner and was delighted with the quality of the food and service. The price is not as expensive as some reviewers have mentioned, especially when compared with the quality of the meals. Had French onion soup with gruyere chesse gratin as a starter. The soup came out nice as it should be. The main course... More
