Flaming charm in the old city

this is a well appointed charming restaurant with a focus on table side cooking and flambé everything. It is no place for the clumsy or those with a fear of flame. It can get noisy. Yet, the place has a touch of glamour. The food is very good...there is a gluten free menu.

The Continental is an excellent restaurant which serves traditionally prepared French cuisine. My wife got escargot as an appetizer which was superb. I got the grilled shrimp which were nice and plump and juicy. My wife got the Dover sole which she enjoyed even though the portion was a little small. My filet mignon was prepared tableside and cooked to... More

I knew we would only be in Quebec City for the Weekend, so how do you choose the best place. Well Andrew Bordain said this was the best place to visit for his over night trip, so why not try. This place is the true experience of history, which matches the Old World rich history of Quebec Ciry. The food... More

It was a Sunday almost 10:30 restaurants were closing. I don't like to go to restaurants on the main touristic streets so I walked a bit further passed the fair not hotel and found this gem. Don't expect a modern and hip feel. The restaurant has a classic decoration the servers were all men dressed in white jackets. I ordered... More

Wonderful service and exquisite cuisine. They make your Caesar salad right at your table, like it's supposed to be made.

Food was superb my wife had the filet of beef cooked at our table, I had the scallops. Wine list offers many choices. The restaurant is expensive but well worth the cost and experience

This restaurant is a sophisticated and well-coordinated machine. While the waiter was preparing a steak next to our table, other entrees were being prepared in the kitchen. All appetizers and dinners came to the table at the right time, at the right temperature, and with the right presentation. The server was a bit serious and very professional, but at the... More

Excellent place for a romantic dinner. We ordered two main dishes in the flambé section...the filet mignon and the garlic shrimp...they were fantastic!! And of course, the crepes Suzette were delicious. It was worth every penny!!

My wife and I felt like being in Paris (or Any French city!) in the 1950's......the food is great.....had the filet mignon and the New York strip respectively. .....all done flambé style at your table. The staff is exceedingly accomadating....making the requested adjustments that we requested...ie fries, not mash....etc.... Go and be beguiled! Wine list is adequate not excessive.

Great food. Great wait staff. A charming atmosphere in old town Quebec City. If I lived here, I would be a regular.
