My wife and I visited Le Continental twice during a recent holiday in Quebec City. During the past 40 years we have visited this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent, the staff engaging and the food is consistently outstanding.

Elegant, old European style restaurant, just a few steps from the Place d'Armes. The menu is lovely: fairly pricey, but everything we had was delicious and the service was elegant and friendly. We both had giant seared scallops with a mustard-honey-herb sauce that was both intriguing and tasty. The Caesar Salad for two, prepared at the table, was delicious, and... More

We visited the night after Christmas for a special dinner. We weren't there for the appetizers or drinks - we were there to see the flambe and to eat meat. And Le Continental delivered. The steak was fresh, perfectly cooked to order, and had a great sauce - the side vegetables were an after thought and pretty basic. The Crepes... More

Were staying at the Frontenac across the street so thought this was a good location and the reviews on-line were pretty solid. The price for dinner was $140 each which included several courses. My mouth to God's ear, the food, except for the filet with we ordered without sauce, was dog food quality. We could not believe our eyes when... More

I made the reservation based on Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown and this was the restaurant I was most looking forwarding to visiting. The show made it seem quiet and elegant with impeccable service and that wasn't quite the reality. It's much more lively than I expected and really reminded us of Benihana's with each table having their own person chef.... More

Simply superb. The service, ambience and food quality were some of the best I've ever experienced. I had the seafood cocktail appetizer and a special roast turkey with stuffing entree. Delectable! The chocolate mousse was also outstanding. I will be back!

My wife and I enjoyed a very nice meal here. The staff, the showmanship and the meal were all quite good. We had old school favorites....foie gras and Caesar Salad for two, Dover Sole for me and Steak au poivre for her. We split a creme brûlée for dessert. Overall, it was a very fun experience. Anyone looking for an... More

With the smell of butter when you're walking into the restaurant, you know you're in for a treat here. Our server who seemed rather young but very experienced prepared shrimp in whiskey sauce and lobster Newburgh scampi flambé at table side. It was quite a show and very well orchestrated. Only negative comment is service seemed rushed, but the food... More

The chocolate mousse may have been the best dessert we have ever eaten (we shared it). The service may also have been the best we have had in a restaurant. The filet mignon cooked at our table was outstanding. The (shared) shrimp and scallop appetizer was delicious.

The staff were all dressed in blazers and bow ties. You had your own server / maitre d' and some bus boys in training. They specialize in flambé and it shows! So delicious. Everything hit the spot and it wasn't rushed at all. They are honest about if you may be ordering too much as they want you to enjoy... More
