If you want a contrasting feel to the Le Vieux Quebec, walk down to the waterfront to have a meal at Le Cafe du Monde. Every waterfront seems to have a place like this, but this does have good, fresh food and upscale service. The windows are really large and there is lots of light. Feels posh but relaxed at... More

If Quebec City were the birthplace of 'la joie de vivre', and I honestly believe it is, this restaurant would qualify hands down to be its ambassador. It is a happy and lively place, yet with a good measure of class, plenty of ambience and a close-up view of the St. Lawrence River. I can't think of a better place... More

The view was great, wait staff very helpful and the food and wine were wonderful. We were able to walk to the restaurant from our hotel.

We only had tea in the afternoon and sat at a window watching the cyclist and strollers at rivers edge. The building feels like it was built for expositions, lots of glass and metal. I think they may have performances evenings?

This cafe (really a full service restaurant) is located adjacent to the ship terminal on the St. Lawrence. We had a wonderful view with a table overlooking the river. Salad was first rate and the salmon dish was well seasoned, fresh vegetables, well cooked and delicious. The service was excellent, waiter made great suggestions, good wine list and the desserts... This was our least favorite restaurant in Quebec. The view on the patio over looking the river is wonderful, but there is no other redeeming factor. The raw oysters arrived warm, and the other starters we shared were laughably small and pretty average. We thought the menu looked great (hello, duck fat fries), but we didn't get that far. We... There were seven of us, we had the salmon, chicken, pasta with vegetables and prosciutto in a tomato sauce, a lamb burger, and clams, and everybody really enjoyed their food. Service was quick and very pleasant. We also had dessert and it was very good. So there is something for all tastes, with a great view of the St-Lawrence river.... More

You get a lovely view of the St Laurence River from the restaurant. They were very gluten-free friendly and had a wonderful wine selection. I highly recommend the filet with local vegetables.

We decided to try this restaurant based on TripAdvisor reviews and we are glad we did!!! It is a bit difficult to find. Head to the cruise ship pier and it will be easier to locate. We did not have dinner reservations and we arrived about 6 pm. Any time after that and we probably would not have been able... More

We enjoyed a very pleasant brunch at Cafe du Monde. We arrived without a reservation at about 9:50 (they open at 9:00 on Sunday) and waited about 5 minutes for a table. We had a delicious orange and strawberry juice. Both of us ordered variations of eggs benedict and both were excellent. Service was quick and efficient -- the organized... More
