Walked to Cafe St. Malo for dinner with a colleague. No reservations but they were able to seat us. The interior is a hodgepodge of art and various styles of seating. Not elegant, but welcoming. Friendly and attentive service, even after the patio patrons had to dash inside to avoid a downpour. Had the salmon tartare as a starter and... More

Although I loved the service here and the wine, the steak frites were really terrible. I was quite hungry and so did not complain to the staff; but in thinking about the experience later I have realized that this certainly did not meet the expectations I had when my hotel referred me to this lovely little spot on Rue Saint-Paul.... Quebec City has quickly become a favorite vacation destination owing in large part to the very diverse and excellent selection of restaurants. We had dinner at this quaint little bistro and found the ambiance to be quiet, laid back and charming. Eclectic decor and great service added to the experience. We enjoyed a seafood stew that was excellent and flavorful.... More

Had the french onion soup; best since France. Creme Brule melts in your mouth. Wife had Fish soup and salmon; Tres bon. It's a little out of the way but well worth it. Note that they close at 2:00 pm for lunch and they mean it. Not much english spoken here.

Started with French Onion Soup and Escargot, then onto Osso Bucco, which was excellent with pasta and the house Spanish red wine. Another night we had mussels with frites and were surprised with about 5 dozen in an onion wine sauce! Nice atmosphere outside and service by Sofia.

Amazing in several respects. The menu offers many classic French dishes, more than the other bistros we tried. I had the warm goat cheese salad and veal brains simply sautéed in butter and capers. Both were superb. My wife had the salmon and it was perfectly prepared (not overly so) and presented. It was a Friday night and the place... More

My wife and I went for a dinner and had awesome time and food at the restaurant. The French onion soup was terrific and duck confit was delicious. Also the rabbit meat was very interesting in a good way. Reservation is a must!!!!!!! Seen people turned away b.c no seats available or the space to wait. They will just ask... More

We wanted to go to Cafe St-Malo our first night in Quebec, and it was full. The waiter told us that it would be at least an hour before we could be seated. There were 4 tables open, so that told me this restaurant is for real. What I mean is that the waiter knew that with the crush of... More

This restaurant offers very good traditional French food. My wife and I dined here on our last evening in Quebec City. This is a place to go to spend an evening slowly enjoying a nice gourmet quality meal. Service was friendly and unrushed. On to the food. I had a Duck Confit. It was one of the best I have... More
