We dined at Le Saint-Malo in late October at the recommendation of our hotel. The restaurant is absolutely charming - cozy and inviting. The menu offered a variety of interesting and unexpected items, and we enjoyed a fabulous dinner from start (crusty French bread) to finish (amazing desserts!) My husband began with the kangaroo pate', and had quite the decision... More

We had a lovely time at this cozy, French restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful. There were more locals than tourists, but everyone spoke English perfectly.

We had lunch here one day and it was delicious. We sat outside under the awning which was great due to the fine weather. Everything we ordered turned out wonderful. Definitely try the French onion soup. All in all we really enjoyed this little place.

We got the recommendation from our concierge to come here for dinner because we were looking for a charming, cozy place for dinner that served French, local food at medium prices. What a treasure!! We blew in with the wind and sank into the charm of the restaurant. The server was lovely and very helpful. She had all intentions of... More

I ordered the onion soup and the goat cheese salad. Onion soup was ok but the salad was a little disappointing. It was basically a huge piece of goat cheese on top of some greens Very basic. Our waiter was not very knowledgeable about the menu and then disappeared for at least 1/2 hour. When he came back we could... More

This tiny, low ceilinged restaurant on the east side of Quebec City's oldest area, is set amongst art galleries and antique shops close to the water. The food is stunningly good. Delicate flavours, tasty soups and fish stews, regular french provincial choices, the obligatory steak frites, and for the adventurous- blood, brains and bollocks in various guises! Absolutely brilliant atmosphere... More

Very glad to have found this hidden gem. I was a bit concerned they were not very busy on a Friday night but the food was top notch. The soup was thick and flavorful. Entres were excellent. Staff was wonderful from the kitchen to the server. High end quality dining at reasonable price.

We enjoyed a walk from our B&B (L'Heure Douce) through the old town and found this quaint restaurant on Rue St-Paul, very near the lower town (Petit Champlain) area of old Quebec. Very friendly staff, wonderful food and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The name St-Malo brings memories of a beautiful northern France port village, but this restaurant is anything but French. The service was poor...we waited a good half hour before being noticed. The lamb confit was extremely dry and salty, and the eggplant parmesan was swimming in tomato sauce, along with the side salad, and we're still not sure if we... More
