My wife and I made a return visit to this small, family run restaurant, having discovered it on a previous winter visit. Eclectic ambiance, very friendly and accommodating proprietors. Dinner prices are 20% higher than lunch for basically the same food. We both wanted steak-frits as it is our favourite French basic. We had a good experience overall, but the... More

Came across this Cafe at the end of Rue Saint Paul and had a wonderful dining experience! Service was very good and we sat alfresco which gave us a lovely view of the street while dining. The lunch sets were priced very reasonably and our waitress took the time to explain the French menu to us in English. My friend... More

The St-Malo is a charming little bistro on the outer edge of the Old City. It's VERY tiny and decorated the way you might picture a french canadian grandmother decorating her small farmhouse. Our waitress was EXTREMELY accommodating with our lack of knowledge of the French language. I had a lamb shank confit that was fall off the bone tender... More

This was a lovely experience. The food was great, and reasonably priced, not like some of the QC City places. The house wine was a bit acidic, but went well with the lamb. The environment is lovely and the staff is very helpful and attentive. Really enjoyed the whole thing.

Loved the alfresco seating, quick, efficient service. Dishes beautifully presented. Good size servings of fresh seafood cooked beautifully.

My travelling partner and I stumbled upon this restaurant after being pointed to the Old Port by our hotelier for dinner. It is a beautiful restaurant in a historic building. There are beautiful stone work walls, art hanging on the walls, and art tiles on the ceiling. My partner ordered the cassoulet and I the steak frites for our main... More

Just came across the café by luck. Everything we had was first-class at a price that was very reasonable. Ambience was relaxed ,service was excellent. Was amazed that such fantastic quality could be produced by the chef ,on his own, in such a small kitchen & the one waiter (i suspect co-owner?) looking after the front of the house The... More

We went there for lunch and had the lunch menu. The food was great, the service prompt and attentive. It is located in a very old house but is very cute. If you are in the area of the Vieux Port, I would highly recommend it.

We had blood sausage and Cassoulet maison. They are so delicious. I'm picky but couldn't stop complimenting it. Small but well designed interior gives a cozy home sense.
