Lovely Place

Attentive laid back service, enjoyed all aspects of dinner here. French onion soup, steak frites and salad, pesto and sun dried tomato penne and duck confite were all excellent and a delicious cream of pea and bacon soup were enjoyed by all in our party. We ordered a bottle of red, white and an... read more

This was a great dinner. I was alone and the staff made me feel at home. Wonderful atmosphere, very friendly and helpful (I don't speak French!). Food was great and price was just right.

Cafe St.-Malo is a great option for a break from antique and tourist shops on Rue St-Paul. The space is quaint, yet warm and lively. Here are a few points... 1. They have a more reasonably priced lunch menu that is not always posted outside. For $18.99 I had a steak and frites with a carrot soup appetizer (delicious) and... More

We had dinner here on a Sunday evening and the place was packed. I suspect most of the clientele were, like us,tourists, but that didn't detract from the quality of the food and friendly service.

Wonderfully cozy French bistro run by a husband and wife who immediately make you feel welcomed and comfortable. The small size, beamed ceiling and artwork created a delightful atmosphere to offset the frigid walk to get there from our hotel. My husband and I shared the fantastic melted goat cheese salad as an appetizer which was wise as it could... More

Nothing fancy about this place, just good food, pleasant hosts and a very friendly atmosphere. We at here first in 2013 and decided to come back in this visit. Still the same, still enjoyable and I hope it will stay the same for our next visit.

Great ambiance, good service. Soups were good, but main dishes were bland, crying for better seasoning.

Small cozy but very delightfull restaurant on the east side of Old Quebec City... with great charm, staff and amazingly deilcious food. The service is friendly and efficient... they also boast a great wine list. It can be a very nice romatic spot if you get a quiet table upstairs. I had the white fish dish which was perfection. After... More

If you are looking for great food in a casual and intimate, and friendly environment, then I recommend Cafe Malo. It is located in Lower town, near the waterfront, just slightly removed from the very most touristy spots, but a very easy walk to most old town locations. This is not the place to go if you are looking for... More
