Great find in a sea of touristy restaurants

This small bistro is a mixture of locals and tourists. It is on rue St. Paul so people watching is fun if seated at the terrace. Food was great quality, mussels/ frites and an eggplant dish. The lunch special also includes a soup so very reasonably priced.

This restaurant requires reservation, and it u don't have reservation, u won't be welcomed nicely and will feel like second class citizen. Their service is super slow too. Foods are pretty average too.

Read all the great reviews here. And maybe as a San Franciscan I am spoiled. But the food was mediocre. Goat cheese salad, onion soup and cassoulet. All ordinary at best. And disappointing wine list too. Waiter not in the right business also

During our visit of Quebec we went here without checking tripadvisor, which we usually do. We chose the table d'hote with a fish soup and desert. The soup was great, the best part of the dinner, with delicious pieces of diverse seafood. The principle was duck with fried patatoes, decent but basic. The atmosphere was pleasant and we've got an... More

4th visit in several years. Always the best. Traditional French Canadian items. Excellent service. The waiters are bilingual My friends had the blood sausage and loved it again. I can't do that one. I had the mussels so yum yum.

My friend and I found this restaurant while visiting Quebec City. The prices looked right and we saw two pastas on the menu - one vegetarian and one easily made vegetarian - so we gave it a try. The service was very friendly, the pasta was fantastic, and we really enjoyed the street patio seating. Good people watching. I would... More

Not on the main tourist streets, this is a hidden gem of a restaurant we found upon recommendation of a local. A garlicy escargot, a delicious duck confit and a wonderfully rich local venison ravioli. And a homemade maple sugar pie that was out of this world. Now, I was hesitant because I am not a huge fan of venison... More

We were taking a walk last night, enjoying the views and trying to decide where to eat. A local was walking his dog so we stopped to pet his adorable poodle. We struck up a conversation with him and mentioned we were looking for a good place to eat that served classic Quebecois food. He recommended this place and it... More

Went here for lunch, nice outdoor seating. Got steak with fries, which seemed like frozen steak, bad quality not worth $25at all. Ravioli with deer stuffing and pink sauce is good.

we have visited cafe St- Malo every time we visit Quebec and are always delighted by the absolutely delicious food in a tiny no-flash or pretension setting. We almost always order the mussels and the duck confit. the duck is melt in your mouth tenders and is served with crispy fries and a delicious side salad. the mussels are plentiful... More
