Recommended by a boutique proprietor as a good place frequented by the locals, and located near the cruise terminal, we decided to try this diner-like place for lunch. We waited about 10 minutes for a table, but turnover is fairly rapid. The menu is limited, but quality is good, portions are generous, and service is fast. We had two of... More

This is a great find, walking distance to the hotels in lower Quebec City. A place where the locals go. We went there for breakfast. Great food, good prices, very friendly staff. A diner-style restaurant where locals go. I would highly recommend.

This is truly one of my favorites in Quebec City for number of reasons; 1 - breakfast is served all day (at a small premium after a certain time, but when one NEEDS beacon and eggs at 4 pm on a Saturday afternoon, who really cares about the surcharge); 2 – (breakfast again) the home-made jam on the home-made bread... Ick - cute from the outside - industrial strength food and wait staff. There must be better places in Quebec City for a decent reasonably priced meal.

I sat at the counter and ordered coffee and the breakfast poutine (La Couchonne). 3 Quebec policemen were finishing their meals just as I arrived. I took this as a sign that this is not only a restaurant for tourists, but for locals too. The poutine is a bowl of potatoes, bacon, ham, sausage, and chunks of cheese drenched in... More

We ate here based on a local recommendation. Wanted to try local food and ordered the meat pie. It was not especially good. Dry meat and hard crust. It had a decent flavor, but was not especially appetizing. The draft beer was very good. We had a table upstairs, so, much of the atmosphere was lost to us. Our waitress... More

We stayed in the old part of Quebec and found this quaint restaurant in St Paul Street. At first I thought the waitress was a tad rude when taking our orders but she was nice and friendly afterwards. Must have been the rush to get everyone's order.......and we didn't speak too much French which could have attributed to the 'rudeness'...But... More

I tried this restaurant recently for the first time. We were there for breakfeast on a sunny and warm Sunday morning so we asked to be seated outdoors. Keep in mind that the St-Paul St. and Vieux-Port is a busy area on week ends when the weather is nice, so seating outdoors might get noisy sometimes. I was satisfied with... More

The morning lineup got worked through pretty efficiently so we weren't kept waiting too long. We were seated upstairs in a loft area with a great view of the restaurant and kitchen. The menu is pretty straightforward breakfast diner fare with every combination you could hope for. My only negative was the $1 extra for maple syrup with the crepe... More

We discovered this gem our first night in the City, and returned a few nights later, it was so good. We tried several different items, but the liver and onions were the best! Better than anything you've tried before in the liver category, I'm sure. The steaks, chicken, meat pies, fresh fish are all well prepared and tasty. Service was... More
