I'd highly recommend you check out Cochon Dingue located in the Petite Champlain district in the lower part of old Quebec. I've been going to Quebec City for over 20 years and this cute little French Canadian bistro has been around as long as I can remember. I had the opportunity to go there for a late breakfast/early lunch on... More

Cochon Dingue is an institution in Québec City restaurants. This is a bistro "à la française" with an excellent selection of meals, including steaks, sea food, and plenty of others. Don't miss the French fries, with mayonnaise. The reason why it did not deserve my 5 stars is because of the service: a bit too slow, and somewhat disappointing (I... More

The sea food linguine was unbelievably heavy. The fish and chips were presented soaking in oil. Really disappointing cause the location and service are quite good. Both my husband and I felt physically nauseated after the dinner from the amount of butter/oil in the food.

This is a great place to have a casual lunch and watch people go by. The pulled pork sandwich is a must, complete with jalapeno peppers...yummy! My wife's salad was a little oily so get the dressing on the side. My daughter loved the mac n cheese mixed with pulled pork. Yes, it was delicious. The staff was polite and... More

We stopped at this place for a quick lunch after overlooking it as a dinner option. Busy spot, right near the water. The wait staff had their hands full, but they were very attentive. We had the veggie mac and cheese and some local Quebec beer (recommended by the waitress) and were not disappointed. Wasn't the best mac and cheese... More

B E S T. P O U T I N E. E V E R. Patrick, our server, was a rocking ball of happiness, joy and energy (seriously get the guy off of caffeine, although he ROCKED!). The place is C R A Z Y, packs people like nuts, and the food is FANTASTIC. This is a Quebèc version of... More

Nothing special, just a tourist trap. Small portions of bland food. We were seated next to the servers station that was very busy. I asked for a table by the window, but was told they were four tops and since we were just two, we couldn't move. Thirty minutes later, I noticed that the table by the window had been... More

Went to Le Cochon Dingue late morning and had a wonderful egg white veggie omelette with goat cheese. It was flavourful and guilt-free. Others in our group had stuffed pancakes with cinnamon apple. The apple butter with bread is a must-have! Would definitely come back for lunch or early dinner.

Honestly we were disappointed with our visit. Both my friend and I had been here in the past and the meal this time just did not live up to our expectations. The service was good, the atomspere is a little crowded but okay, it was just the food was subpar.

Le Cochon is a favorite from previous trips to Quebec City. We haven't changed that opinion. We were seated immediately. Our waitress was lovely and the food was delish. My husband and I had lemonade and it arrived in promptly. I had a new menu item lemony shrimp tartine which I really enjoyed. My husband had a croque monsieur which... More
