Something for everyone

This restaurant is an institution in Quebec City, part of a local chain. The menu is mainly based on pork (but not exclusively) and there is a wide selection of items to choose from. It has something for every member of the family and in that sense is a crowd pleaser, even as mentioned by others... read more

I have been told that this is one of the least touristy places in old Quebec City. The laminated menu is an indication that seasonal fare is not a priority in this establishment. It is hard not to be enchanted by the old walls anywhere in this part of town. The service friendly but not overly so. We did not... More

Had a wonderful breakfast here with my family of five on a drizzly Thursday in August. We had a brief wait for a table and were seated outside under an awning where we were dry. The food was plentiful and delicious--even my picky eaters were happy. The service was good and the people watching was great. I will return again!

Every time I am in QC (3-4 times a year) I eat here at least once. The peppercorn steak & homemade fries are like none other, and the sugar pie is a knockout dessert. The menu has a niche for everyone, and the prices are very affordable. Authentic food, great service. No, they did not pay me to write this.... More

Overall, our food was okay. We asked for our eggs very well done and unfortunately, they were served almost raw. It was really inedible and I had to send it back. The service was good and the price was fair. The rest of the food was fine.

This is a great little restaurant with tasty food at a moderate cost. It is warm and cozy, the staff is friendly and they never rush you , Breakfast was our most favorite meal. Great traditional food! You have got to try the Sugar Pie. They are famous for their Sugar Pie.

We were looking for a place to have dessert after our lunch and we decided to stop by Cochon Dingue. I'm SO glad that we did! The desserts were AMAZING! We had the creme Brûlée and fresh strawberry cheese pie and we can't wait to go back and try them again. The portions were huge so you may get one... More

Lots of choice, excellent food and decent value. The French toast is outstanding. Charming place in old Quebec City. Portions are decent too.
