We dined in several Grand Allee restaurants over the course of our time there...basically no serious complaints, except for one venue already reviewed. Louis-Hebert was a complete pleasure in both dining and service. Once again, we dined al fresco and loved it. Our server was professional, attentive, and friendly-- not in an overbearing manner. If you are looking for an expensive restaurant with snob ambiance, you do care about vine but do not care about food, it might be a giod choice for you. Otherwise you risk to be dissapointed by mediocre taste of the food and will regret the price you paid for it

We booked the New Year's Eve dinner and were happy with the service, food and value. I would add this resto to my list of Grande Allee restaurants to go to for a summer patio meal, although would not go there especially. We sat beside a native Quebec City couple who constantly return for the restaurant's dependability and good value.... More

We walked in without any reservations and got seated upstairs without a hassle. Restaurant was very busy both downstairs and upstairs, but we were seated at a great table by the window. We ordered the fixed menu dinner for $89. Was a little over priced but giving new years eve we accept it. Dinner was great and tasty. A little... More

Much of Quebec City closes down for Christmas day. We we worried about finding a place so we booked the first restaurant that was close by the hotel on Grande Allee E. This was on Christmas Eve so now we felt safe in having an attractive quaint place to have our Christmas Day dinner. Overall, we were not disappointed. The... More

I've eaten here many times over the past ten years and have never been disappointed. I was a bit nonplussed to see the Louis-Hébert criticized by a previous reviewer for the old-fashioned style of the dishes. The cooking is what I would call traditional country-style French cooking: not chichi or post-modern, to be sure, but reliably tasty. On the most... More

This restaurant has three discrete dining areas, each attractive in their own way. The service was fairly steady. Our busboy, who took our reservation earlier in the day, was a nice young man. There were two gentleman circulating from table to table tending to folks who appeared to be 'regulars' in the area. They never circulated our way. The waiter... More

My girl said that to me across the table and I laughed because that summed it up. The service is wonderful, the atmosphere romantic, the food average at best in our opinion. The waiter mentioned everyone comes for the lobster pasta so she ordered it. It was finely presented but lacked something, an herb, a spice. The same for my... More

We made reservations for 8 people the evening before the start of our National Conference and actually arrived with 9. We were seated immediately upon arrival. No language barrier as the wait staff were bi-lingual and very polite. The menu looked very interesting as did the specials @ $20.50. The portions were sufficient, but not overly large. Basically, everyone ordered... More

Went for a quick happy hour drink with 4 friends. Drinks were watery. Service was slow. Server did give us a great review for breakfast the next day.
