Best Locally Sourced Meal Ever

My husband and some friends were visiting Quebec City from Vermont for just a few days and we' were staying in the old part of town. We were out walking in the lower part on extremely frigid day and popped into a gift shop to warm ourselves up. The owner was very friendly and just started up a... read more

Delicious! We braved the cold in snow pants to try this casual delight. Lots & lots of meat dishes, and many sharable plates. Our party of five shared the cornish hen, bison and some really good sides. I highly recommend. Although not in the old city, the staff was able to translate the menu in English.

Dinner at Patente et Machin was one of my favorite meals the whole time we were in Quebec City. The menu is on a chalkboard in French, but our server explained each option in detail for us in English, as our French is pretty nonexistent - I felt a little self-conscious of this, until I noticed he was doing the... We had an amazing meal at Patente et Machin. All of our dishes were exquisite (bison! scallops! foie gras!) and the drink selection was stellar. We made friends with the owners/chefs and we were so very glad to have found this gem.

Entirely staffed by bearded men in cool t-shirts/ball caps. Definitely not the white tablecloth experience, just very fine food, excellent wine and service in a fun environment.

Very reasonably priced, nice atmosphere, and the food was good. I loved my appetizer but I didn't love my meal (the fish of the day) but I may not have just ordered well because all my friends really liked their meal. Very creative desserts. Nice wine selection. Would return.

We we there with another couple and all four enjoyed our meal ! Try anything I'm sure everything is delicious. The beef tartar as an appetizer is served with an egg yolk that has an incredible taste because of its texture obtained by a slow process of cooking. You must try the desserts too ! An homestyle maple pudding with... More

We were in Quebec for a long weekend and wanted to try some interesting food and read about this place on-line. It was a bit of a walk and we got confused between st Joseph west be east but so glad we found it! Very friendly guys with a blackboard of choices which they carefully explained. Food was fantastic and... More

Best place to have a fun dinner in town. And you know what? The food is as great as the party is! You can add foie gras on any plates. This is christmas everyday! The staff is family, everything is perfectly outrageous. Don't go there for a christening party, but for a bachelorette, would be perfect! ;)

Unpretentious and hipster vibe, super friendly and down to earth staff. english skills are a little rough, but they are more than willing to explain the menu and help you out with placing your order (not that you could go wrong with anytong on the menu!) Rillettes de Porcelet tasted like a sweet pork sausage with very mild flavorings, only... More
