Awesome

This is a very unassuming restaurant from the outside but it is not to be missed. Julian's service was phenomenal with a great knowledge of wines. The pork dish was amazing!

I really loved this place. The atmosphere is cozy and quirky (everything is cooked on/in two electric 4 burner stoves!! How?!?!) and it's very friendly. The food was excellent. The night I went, I ordered the yellowfin tuna appetizer and had the scallop entree. I was extremely full by this point so I was unable to enjoy any dessert unfortunately.... More

The menu selections were all enticing. We selected some very tasty dishes. Of the three local restaurants on this street that we patronized, this one had the richest tasting food, so you have to be ready for that. The fat in the dishes brings with it great taste, but be sure to balance it with a selection that isn't so... More

This restaurant can compete with top-tier restaurants. The food is amazing, high quality. The catch is that everything is made in a tiny kitchen, using appliances that everyone owns! It is truly impressive the great food they make with only basic kitchen tools!

I was lucky to snag a rather last minute reservation for this restaurant when we were in town for a conference last year. We had dinner with colleagues and friends and would be happy to return again. The menu was described in detail by our very knowledgable server, the ingredients were distinctly Canadian and, moreover, locally-sourced Quebec ingredients where possible.... More

Polished up on mon francais and phoned for a reservation. As expected it was a small restaurant/kitchen. It was raining outside so the floor inside was quite greasy/slick, requiring my best Gaétan Boucher impression to get to the table. There's a chalk board menu, the server comes to each table and explains the dishes in either French or English. It... More

Visited over Christmas week and glad I did. Sat at the bar where you can enjoy all the activity of preparation. Maybe the most fun I've had at a restaurant. The food was great. Had the tuna appetizer with goat's stomach for the main course, and an outrageous liquid brownie for dessert. Wine suggestions were right on and they let... More

Simply judging by the looks of it, you wouldn't think much of L'Affaire Est Ketchup. Once you sit down and get approached by your waiter, the magic starts. Extremely welcoming staff, great service, homey ambiance and exceptional food. Highlights were the champignon entrée and the brownie for dessert, you NEED to try the brownie, it's out of this world.

This is my second visit to this place. Don't even give this decision a second thought, just go, enjoy! The sweetbreads were divine, the port was eye opening, the duck was spectacular. The kitchen....oh the kitchen...

Everything about the experience was perfect. We knew in advance that the restaurant is informal, friendly and unpretentious. What matters here is the food, and it was excellent. Our group of four was entertained by the Friday server (whose name I now cannot remember) whose enthusiasm for the food and wine were inspiring. He cared and loved the food and... More
