Went to Paillard twice, once for breakfast and once for cafe au lait. We sampled two breakfast sandwiches - one on a croissant with bacon, egg and cheddar cheese; the other on ciabatta bread with mushroom omelet, cheddar cheese and onions. Both delicious. The cafe au lait was great. To go, we bought a baguette and 2 pastries. All good.... More

My family stopped for lunch and we enjoyed the flavorful freshly made sandwiches, the fresh chocolate and very flaky croissant (wonderful as it should be), and topped it off with ice cream (slightly above average). Pillard is a step above a fast food style restaurant, but the service was top notch. Friendly and with a smile. All the staff spoke... More

We stopped by this place 3 times daily while visiting Quebec City. This is the only place to get a decent coffee. We ordered large Americanos and munched on croissants and other pastries. Their prices are reasonable, and seating plenty, which accounts for the long lines for food. We'll worth the wait though.

If you like croissants then go here!!! I'd you like Pantera ' s you'll love Paillard! We stumbled across this bakery while on St. Jean Street. I went back every morning for baked goods and coffee. You'll love it, I promise!!

Came here for breakfast with our family. My husband speaks French, having lived in France in his formative years, and the friendly staff spoke French or English or the mix! We had a croissant, a pain au chocolat, and some yummy bread and walnut thing. All reminded my husband of his youth. We were happy! Giving the restaurant a five... More

I went with my husband for one breakfast and returned later for lunch during our trip. Very nice sandwiches and breads. For desert we liked the creme brule and the custard pie but not the ice cream. Very good and friendly service.

Great selection of breads and pastry, we enjoyed everything we got from here. Well priced. well organized and easy to get around, it was like a dean and deluca/le pain quotiden hybrid. I ate breakfast here 5 times and was never disappointed. My favourite was the chocolate croissants, but I also like the almond croissants and the apricot brioche. I also had the combo matin, once with bacon, and once with ham. The soup bowl Latte was great. There were people from the conference staying at the Hilton who were walking the... More

Went there for a late brunch and everything was impressively good. We had some pains aux chocolat, a few cakes and a cappuccino. One thing I don't like in Canada is the americanised French food, as in it looks like a nice French cake but with way too much sugar and stays on your stomach for the whole day. This... More

While spending a few days in Quebec City, we enjoyed two wonderful mornings having breakfast at Paillard. Each day I chose the "Combo Matin" (morning combo) which was an egg with bacon or ham , cheese, and hollandaise sauce on an enormous and most delicious croissant, with fruit salad and coffee, while my husband chose one of their many scrumptious...
