Excellent bread, pastries, coffee and gelato. One would think Quebec City, like Paris, would have fine boulangeries/patisseries on every corner. But it doesn't. Paillard became our go-to place for breakfast, and we were very happy there. Petit Pain Fromignon (bread with cheese melted inside and out) was excellent. Pain with feta and olives was delicious. Great coffee.

Large selection. Authentic bakery. Coffee is the best I had in Quebec - go for the latte in the alimentation bowl.

We ate here for breakfast/lunch one day. I ordered a crossant sandwich and soup. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. We also came back later in the evening and had some gelato which was ok. I would definitely come back for pastries and sandwiches.

A very pleasant place on a crowded Rue Saint Jean, just off the Frontenac square. Very reasonably priced in an area where there are plenty of expenditure eateries. Very good pastries and very good sandwiches.

If you are looking for a good cafe with great pastries, this is it. Bright clean place with great food at reasonable price. Almost feel like you are in Paris with the tasty macaroons. We were looking for a simple meal with soup and sandwich and it fits the bill. Great coffees and large choice of gelato as well. Long... More

We went here after a run each morning of our visit to Quebec City. The cappuccinos were good and pastries were very fresh. There does tend to be line but don't be deterred - it moves very quickly. Prices are a little high but it is a tourist area and quality is good. Grab the tables at the window -... More

We grabbed sandwiches, beverages, and sweets to go to take to the park for a picnic. The salmon sandwiches were delicious and enormous. Excellent bread. The macaroons were a heavenly treat. Easy to navigate this busy restaurant for just the bakery or the sandwich line.

I ended up there with my friend when the crepe place nearby didn't have take-out and the line-up was out the door so we ended up at Paillard to pick up brunch for our families (8 in total) so had picked up an assortment of baked goods and also a couple breakfast-like croissant sandwiches. We were able to try a... More
