This is a gem of a find. It is a small place but very nice. The dinner I had still has me wishing I could get back for more. I had beef cheeks prepared bourguignon style...just awesome. My wife had beef shepherd pie and she loved it. For desert we had profiteroles freshly prepared...wonderful. The cafe is located in lower... More

My wife scouted this restaurant during a walk in Old Quebec. It is a small restaurant with a simple, unassuming decor in a great location in the Le Vieux Port area of Quebec City. The restaurant features a small menu: 4 or 5 appetizers, 4 to 6 mains that change frequently. In short the food is superb. This is a... More

This charming little bistro was just around the corner from our hotel so we picked it because we were tired and wanted to dine some place close. After eating there, I would have gladly walked a mile to get to it! Delicious food; reasonable prices!

Just what we were looking for on our last night in Quebec City: excellent food with attentive service in an unpretentious setting. We sat on the terrace and watched the tourists wander by. The Bistro du Cap is a small husband/wife operation. Madame manages the front of the house; Monsieur handles duties in the kitchen. We had baked cod and... More

My husband and I were looking for an intimate restaurant to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We found this restaurant quite by chance and had the most fabulous experience from the moment we walked through the door. The Hostess was charming (actually quite a character) and spoke to us in English with ease and pleasure. The Bistro is very small which... More

This bistro is postcard adorable. However, we found the waitstaff to go out of their way to be incredibly rude, and we are not fragile travelers in the least. Skip this bistro and go to one of the many others that offer equal charm plus kind and attentive employees.

Everything about Cafe Bistro du Cap is small - the restaurant, the menu, the number of staff (we counted 4 including the cooks). Every dish we ordered was excellent - bouillabaisse, beef cheeks bourgignon, steak, veal ravioli. The wine list is unfortunately too limited and doesn't live up to the food, but the service was very pleasant, and we enjoyed... More

My sister and I recently spend three days in Quebec City. We were looking for somewhere to dine late Monday afternoon August 18th and decided to choose amongst the restaurants on this street. We stopped to read the menu at this restaurant first and continued down the street. Undecided, we retraced our steps and saw a lady placing a sidewalk... More
