We were visiting the beautiful city of Quebec on a cruise. We had to try some local cuisine other than fast food. We hit on Cafe Bistro Du Cap and how fortunate was this. My wife and I enjoyed a most pleasant 2 hours in the restaurant and had a meal to compare with any we have had anywhere. The... More

Very small room with tables so close it limits personal conversations but food was top rate and overall noise level was not a problem.

Coming off a cruise ship we wanted an authentic simple French meal and we could not have been more pleased. This tiny spot has excellent food, great French wine selections and friendly service.

My husband, one year old daughter, and I sat outside this great little bistro for a perfect lunch on a perfect fall day. We had the most amazing soup and sandwich. We tried to go back for dinner but the restaurant was basically full and there wasn't room for a high chair or our stroller.

This is a great eating establishment if you like exceptional food and service in a more casual atmosphere. The room is cosy with all the ambience of the Old Port. The menu is small and our meals were delicious. We were guided to a terrific wine and were not rushed. I would travel to Quebec City again just for the... More

After a long day of walking all over Quebec City, we stopped at Bistro du Cap for a quick dinner. The restaurant is towards the end of an old cobblestone street, near several boutique hotels, including le Priori (see review). There may be 10-12 tables in all, plus a small bar. We shared a crab cake (app), the rabbit stuffed... More

This is a gem of a find. It is a small place but very nice. The dinner I had still has me wishing I could get back for more. I had beef cheeks prepared bourguignon style...just awesome. My wife had beef shepherd pie and she loved it. For desert we had profiteroles freshly prepared...wonderful. The cafe is located in lower... More

My wife scouted this restaurant during a walk in Old Quebec. It is a small restaurant with a simple, unassuming decor in a great location in the Le Vieux Port area of Quebec City. The restaurant features a small menu: 4 or 5 appetizers, 4 to 6 mains that change frequently. In short the food is superb. This is a... More

This charming little bistro was just around the corner from our hotel so we picked it because we were tired and wanted to dine some place close. After eating there, I would have gladly walked a mile to get to it! Delicious food; reasonable prices!

Just what we were looking for on our last night in Quebec City: excellent food with attentive service in an unpretentious setting. We sat on the terrace and watched the tourists wander by. The Bistro du Cap is a small husband/wife operation. Madame manages the front of the house; Monsieur handles duties in the kitchen. We had baked cod and... More
