Certainly an interesting culinary experience, but not sure what the fuss is or if it is worth the high price. Similar to the previous reviewer (connois) we found that the "small plates" were actually tiny portions and some of the ingredients listed on the menu were downright microscopic. Certainly some interesting and tasty dishes, but not all their creative approaches... More

Yes, the quality and creativity is there, but you pay very dearly for a tapas plate. Service was very good. Our server kept saying -- if it is not enough, then you order more! What? Not at these prices! My lobster risotto, although tasty and a nice little piece of claw on top literally had no risotto underneath. A fish... More

We were blown away by Toast---one of the absolute best dinners I have had in a very long time. The food is brilliantly creative and can be shared or ordered individually. While everything was great, I would especially recommend the half cooked smoked salmon, the veal jowl (veal cheek I think) and the rabbit/foie gras combination. Foie gras is a... More

The waiter was an old style well informed and helpful fellow. His knowledge of the offerings improved our experience. For two we had five small plates and all were exceptional but pricey for size. The best were octopus, lobster risotto, and mushroom crostini.

We tried a variety of dishes/ tapas kinda of style --- we shared amongst the two of us. We were seated in a lovely old room with exposed stone-- table for 2.. I loved the ambiance... Delicious wine ..Highly recommend. Would go again!

We had dinner in this cosy little restaurant. The food was delicious and inventive with interesting taste and texture combinations but eye wateringly expensive. We have been to many other establishments in the UK, Canada and elsewhere and eaten very well for a fraction of the price. If it hadn't been for the bread we would have left hungry as... More

My husband and I had dinner at Toast for my 30th Birthday. The food was amazing and the owners treated us like VIPs. We will definitely be back next time we are in Quebec City!!!!

The service is attentive but not intrusive. it is a relatively small place with warm ambience. The food comes in dishes that are a bit larger than appetizer but smaller than an entree. The flavours are deep, rich and memorable. If you are looking for large portions, this is not the place for you. If you want wonderfully flavourful food,... More

We ate here on our last night in QC. Menu is tapas-style, so you order small dishes to share. They recommend about 2-3 dishes per person, at $20 each! This is more pricy than other upscale tapas places I've been to (Susur Lee in Toronto, I'm thinking about you! That was about $15 per dish.) but to be fair, the... More

Located in the lower town old Quebec, along a charming narrow cobblestone street called Sault-au-Matelot. Small and cozy dinner space indoor, great outdoor terrasse, perfect service and what can we say about the menu, a work of art. One of our 4 favorite restaurants in Québec. If you want to treat yourself to something special you should try this restaurant.... More
