A great little café

Café Cherrier is long established in Montréal, in the heart of Montréal's trendy area. We stopped by late at night for a light supper and several glass of wine. We have been visiting le Café Cherrier occasionally for many years. Nice to see the constant high standards in this great yet unpretentious bistro. Having been around for so long, without being impacted by the come and goes trends and fads, le Café has a soul of its own. Glad to see it being part of the10% best restaurants in... More

This was a cute little bistro where we had breakfast today! Everything was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. I definitely recommend this place for a quick stop with a nice atmosphere and good food. Good location too!

Cafe Cherrier is a great fair-priced bistro with delicious food and note-worthy service. I always find myself going there over breakfast or simply to have a good lunch. When comes summertime, the pation is an obvious spot to pick. I would recommend to anyone who wishes to have s good value for what they pay for. Also very clean!

If You are looking for a typical french restaurant that serves good classical french cuisine , it's and has been a very place for quite many years. For lunch, you should réserve a table in the small dining room, because the restaurant can be noisy with it's crowded space. A long bar, a 3 Lines of tables and in the... More

We went to breakfast at Cafe Cherrier on a friend's recommendation. Breakfast was exceptionally inexpensive, plenty of food but nothing out of the ordinary. We sat in a row of tables for two and ended up having a lovely conversation with the ladies at the table next to us. We will try again because it is handy to where we... More

Location is on St Denis, across the street from the park. French Bistro look, but the menu is international. Quick service, nice wine list, food was good and reasonable.

Our family of four ate here our first night in Montreal. Great atmosphere, sat outdoors. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Three course table d'hote was a good deal. Good selection of bistro type food (grilled salmon salad, goose leg confit, crème brulee). Four thumbs up

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
