One of the best pizzas I've had in Montreal

This restaurant specializes in thin crust brick-oven cooked pizzas. Plenty of options to choose from. I had the "Ratatouille" pizza, which I certainly enjoyed. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals and agreed its one of the better pizzas they've had in Montreal.

My wife and I enjoyed some great pies here during a trip to Montreal. Lots to choose from and the service was good. It was crowded and seating was tight so we went elsewhere for another drink and dessert.

In the heart of Philip Square, Il Focolaio serves up wood fire pizza just right! The crust is thin and crisp, no soggy middle. Plenty of toppings And considering there's over 70 types to pick from ...GOOD LUCK!! We hAd veggies platter (68) and split a Italian salad. All was enough for two! You'll enjoy yourself! Fast pace ...and loud.... More

This pizza place is amazing. We got there and started looking at the menu, if I remember well you have the choice between 70something pizzas and other options are also available. I had a glass of Pinot Grigio which was really good. After that, we had an artichoke and Italian ham pizza and the Hawaiian blue cheese pizza. Both were... More

I don't usually write reviews, rather read them for advice. However, I felt obligated today as the service was well beyond expectation. I'm not sure the gentlemen's name, but he left an impression that warranted complement. Well done sir!

I think I said it all already. The place is loud, cramp, lively, and has great food. Went with my wife and two kids of 10 and 12 and we enjoyed our time here. This is definitely our go-to place on future visits when we don't feel like trying something new. The number of pizzas on the menu is a... More

Small, cramped, super busy, full of locals, fast service, amazing pizza, great wine, great service and great atmosphere. I'm actually quite upset I've ignored this restaurant on every trip to Montreal b/c it is now a "must-do" for every return trip.

It´s pizzas, made on a brick oven, are the best ones you can in Montreal. They have a wide variety and they are so attractive that it is somehow difficult to decide which one to order. The service is very good.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
