I learned of this time-warp back to the 1950s from an 80-ish Montréal native to whom I'd had the pleasure of sitting beside on the Amtrak Adirondack from New York. So I definitely had to go. There was nothing I did not enjoy about my experience of the place, which is definitely not a mecca for seekers of haute-cuisine, alta... More

We always eat at Da Giovanni when travelling to Montreal. It is great tasting Italian food at very good prices. We both had the pizza-getti where you get both pizza and pasta. It tasted great. Our server did not speak English well but was helpful as she got an interpreter when we asked a question she did not understand.

Food was good, reasonable price, clean restaurant , Would recommend anytime. Loved the atmosphere and the waitresses were efficient and friendly.I loved the pizza! Good size portion for the money and the special of the day was more that enough food.

Great Italian restaurant and the prices were very reasonable and the desserts were delicious! We had the table d'hote for about $20 and it came with soup, pasta and of course the delicious dessert

This became a staple for our afternoon meals. The portions are huge, the food was tasty and the price tag was reasonable. The service was generally great. I recommend the calzone con pollo, the chicken parmigiana and the Cesar salad with grilled chicken

Had the spaghetti meat sauce and the salad and soup bar. The latter was fine the former horrible (overcooked pasta in a very liquid sauce makes a very soggy affair). Will not go back.

This place has a mix of Italian dishes as well as French and North American options. The service was ok. Not fast/slow good/bad, just ok. The escargo (snails) with mushrooms and garlic butter were amazing. This was the best part of the meal other than my GIANT meatball. I should have skipped the salad, it was ok, but nothing special.... More

I walked into this place since it was close to my hotel. I got seated at a table which was pretty tiny but not too bad. I noticed that a lot of people were running around with dishes, glasses, food,... it didn't seem to be that organized at first sight. However, my order was taken a few minutes later and... More

We did not get a chance to try the pizza that they seem to be known for, but we enjoyed their breakfast. The service was fast, the waitresses were friendly, and the prices were fair.

We went there for lunch on a recent visit to Montreal. It was very busy so the service was slow but the food was really good. Our waitress was rushing around the place waiting on everyone and was very overworked / overwhelmed. We decided that night to go back since we all liked the food so much and we could... More
