First visit and not disappointed.

I had breakfast at Barbare on sunday and I was pleased with what I had. It's nothing fancy or different from the average breakfast you'll eat at any restaurant chain but the service was good as well as the food. I especially liked the potatoes. Decided to head on down to Le Barbare on Rue. St. Dennis in Montreal for an after St. Patrick's Day supper. I was craving the Barbare burger with salad and fries along with a 20 oz'er of St. Ambroise India Pale Ale. As an appetizer I ordered their amazing wings. You know they're crispy and well-done if you can tap... More

I've been a major fan of Le Barbare for many years. Friendly service, a good burger and great beers...what's not to like. Well for one, the beef used in the burgers is now very poor quality. They used to use ground beef with texture, but now you get something like reconstituted cardboard. Also the toilets are really smelly and right... More

We decided to go to a restaurant for lunch one Sunday. As I walked through the door, I suddenly realized that I was plunging myself into the overrated, overpriced concept that is Sunday brunch. But alas, hungry and sick and tired of looking for a restaurant, we decided to try this place. We got a seat immediately despite how crowded... More

Excellent neighborhood burger joint. They have excellent Quebec beers and a nice selection of burgers and other pub food. Service is always friendly and the fries are crispy. What more could you ask for?

Bon burger et bonne biere maison... Good burgers to go with their home-brewed beers.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
