I dined yesterday evening with 11 family members and friends at Cuisine et dépendance in the Plateau Mont-Royal area of Montréal. The restaurant is well situated, corner Saint-Laurent and Saint-Joseph and there was ample parking in the surrounding area. No one had to walk more than 2 blocks from their car. The dining area was well decorated in a sleek,... More

They have a pseudo small plates menu. By this I mean that they have a menu of the small plates style, but the plates are split into suggested starters and suggested main meals. The main meals are garnished with vegetables. Generally one of each should be enough for most people. There are also a few menu choices that are more... More

We live in New York, so our expectations for restaurants are very high. We found Cuisine et Dependance by accident a year ago when we came to Montreal and loved it so much that we had dinner there twice during our relatively short stay. We just came back for another visit and as we were planning the visit everyone in... More

I have been to Cuisine et Dependance several times and my last visit was yesterday. I just love this restaurant and I think it is under-rated. I think it is a well kept secret in Montreal. I am really sorry to read the last review. They had a bad service... maybe, it happens. But all I can say is that... More

the two of us went there on a reservation following a play at Espace Go. At most 7 tables were then occupied. We took an apéro and then waited, waited and waited to pass our order. After about at leas one half hour, we finally chose the theater special menu, a very simple one. And then, we waited again. Waited,... More

Cuisine & Dépendance is a lovely restaurant in the Plateau. More geared towards an older (theatre) clientele, we still felt comfortable in the setting. We're in our early thirties and everyone there seemed to be over fifty the day we had gone, which was kind of strange. The menu is written on paper on the wall and you can tell... More

I have been to Cuisine et Dependance many times and I love this place. They make you feel at home. The food is high quality and I love the fish and the risotto at this place. I like eating at the bar. The staff is caring. The wine list is original. Even if I am not a dessert lover, I... More

Dinner this Friday Oct 16th, 5:30PM Started off with an appetizer of crab. This starter consisted of crab meat sandwiched between two very tasty buttery slices of "dodu du fromentier"'s bread: the crab meat was amazingly fresh (as if it came right from the sea), tender, nicely seasoned, flavorful and very tasty. It was served along fresh mesclun baby leaves... More
