Good, staff really nice

I took my son here as he loves pasta. We shared an Insalata Caprese with mozzarella di Buffalo which was just perfect. My son has the half bowl of spaghetti bolognaise, which they list as half beef half veal. It was ok, barely any meat on it really, but the sauce was great otherwise. I had the... read more

Excellent Italian dining. I ordered the caprese insalata as an appetizer and used bread to basically lick the plate. Penne with duck as a main course and you don't have to go searching for the duck, there's a good amount in there. Great experience, delicious food, will be going back.

The prices are so unreasonable and foods quality is not expensive. However, the staff are polite and helpful. If you need a calm place and don't like noisy place it is a good one.

I came here for dinner with 4 friends tonite. The decor was nice and so was the service. The menu was primarily pasta at reasonable prices. I ordered the minestrone soup and the funghili with veal for my main dish. My friends also ordered pasta dishes. The soup arrived warm not hot, watery and the vegetables were diced and under... So last week I had tried Les 9 Muses, and right across from it is Le petit Italien, so I made a mental note to try this place. So tonight I came to try it. Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations, maybe my expectations were to high. Let's start with the pros: •Very nice and attentive staff •Romana Salad... More

Cozy restaurant with pretty decent Italian food. 15 min drive from downtown Montreal. Beef tartare was best choice. Staff was friendly but service was very slow. Had a reservation but had to wait 30 min because table wasn't ready.

Food is very authentic Italian... not Americanized. Variety of appetizers and entres plus daily specials. Staff is professional, friendly and courteous. Great location on Bernard Street in a very French village like atmosphere in Outremont, a very short hop from downtown Montreal.

We actually set out to go somewhere else but once we arrived and found a parking in front of Le Petit Italien. The patio seating was perfect, the staff welcoming and menu full of options. Great salads and home made pasta - the gnocchi with fresh vegetables and linguine with seafood were hits. Don't miss it, good meal and no... More

I had the linguine with cream, gorgonzola sauce, spinach and apple. It sounded good, but I was disappointed. The cream sauce was too thick, and you could hardly taste the gorgonzola. On the other hand, the linguine with seafood in white wine that my husband had was excellent. So I guess it all depends on the meal you order.

It is not gourmet food, but they can be creative, If you do not expect a 3 star experience, you will have a good time at this place

Staying in Outremont

Neighborhood Profile
Outremont
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theater productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighborhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
