Very good bistro on Laurier. Parking can be problematic, but not always. Good bistro food, generous portions. Menu tends to stay the same for long periods of time.

We got there around 730 and they offered us a table right away, as long as we got out for 915. Coming from Toronto, it was another sign of the Montreal difference -- busy hour for dinner is 900, just when sidewalks are rolled up in Toronto! We started with plump Nova Scotia oysters and Muscadet as server suggested --... More

Whether you go to this resto for lunch, brunch or dinner the food is always very good. Fairly extensive choices on the menu and in my opinion reasonable prices for the money. Located on very popular Laurier street.

I visited here for dinner on the recommendation of a local resident. Upon arrival, I did find the host a little snobbish in his attitude. I didn't have a reservation and it felt like he was reluctant to give me a seating given I was on my own. I was happy to sit at the bar and went with that.... More

A bit pricier than some of the other bistros in town but well worth it. There is something for everyone on the menu.

A simple straightforward menu done well with professional service in a spare and modern environment. This is classic bistro fare (roast chicken, steak frites, salmon, etc) done in a clean open setting. Our server was personable yet professional. Started with a crisp aperol apertif and followed with a butternut squash soup, an appetizer sized of mushroom ravioli, a side of... More

4 of us were led to the closed in patio, we happily set down ‘cos it sort of reinforced that summer had not really left yet! Here’s what we shared: Arugula and fennel salad, mushroom ravioli, grilled calamari and zucchini, duck leg confit, fresh Icelandic wild cod, herb crusted calf liver, and 15 oz aged rib eye steak. All portions... More

Impeccable service with a smile. We were a party of 12 including 2 small kids. The food was delicious, hot and beautifully served. The doughnuts are amazing, the plates are just right. Loved it!

Staying in Outremont

Neighborhood Profile
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theater productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighborhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
