Yum

OMG you have to go have their pontine! This place is packed all day long. It's not big but it's worth the wait. The staff is helpful and polite. We decided to carry out and eat in the park across the street!

Went here because of a recommendation for good poutine. I was not disappointed - very simple but authentic poutine, and just the right size (not HUGE like other places). Had a great grilled bacon and cheese as well. They also make a great homemade ice tea. It is very small inside - only sits 10-12 people- so be prepared to... More

Service was quick but the employee taking orders was a little rude (may have been because I couldn't speak French). I was told that the poutine was going to be "the best"- Ordered a BLT and poutine and they were both tasty butttttt did not meet my expectations. Still worth a visit.

Poutine: you just gotta. For the real deal, you want fresh cheese curds (not grated block cheese), good gravy and fresh-cut, piping-hot fries. They will give you that. Or just have a box of the fries! This is not haute cuisine; a good burger (not too big, you need room for your poutine), hot dogs, sandwiches. (If "saving room" you... More

It being our first trip to Montreal we wanted to try poutine. We were glad we stopped at Patati Patata. Although the place is small, they were able to make room for us at the counter. It was entertaining watching the 'kitchen dance' the food preparers needed to do in order to choreograph getting all those orders out. They spoke... More

Really nice place with a diner(ish) type of feel to it. The owner was super helpful, told him we were visiting from NY and he recommended his best seller which was really good. The one thing i enjoyed the most about this places food were the portion sizes. While the burgers were on the small side compared to burgers in... More

I first discovered this quaint little French fry joint in the late 90's by fluke. It honestly hasn't changed a bit over the years, the food is outstandingly fresh, you watch them make it right in front of you. The quality is there, the freshness and the flavors are right on point. The downside is also part of its charm,... More

Two of my sons, wifey and I went for a "snack" today. Two beer, 3 delicious poutines, one hamburger and one salad-poutine for 37$. All delicious, all really well made, really cool dudes behind the counter. This "hole in the wall" is well worth the visit. Yes...hole in the wall because it seats a maximum of 10 people. But we... Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
