I got cinnamon and raisin bagel. It was definitely not hot and fresh. It must have Ben sitting there for two days. I think employees would know if something wasn't fresh and warn me. They should discount day old donuts or separate them from all the rest at the end of the day. Supermarket bagels should be better than what... More

My wife and I got bagels on 2 occasions and were completely pleased. The bagels were fresh and ranked right up with those from Ess a Bagel in NYC. We will visit again when we visit Montreal again later this year.

Stopped twice at Fairmount Bagel while in Montreal- Once early morning, and another time, late at night... Both times, i found the sesame seed topped bagel was warm ... Twice I found other types of bagels were hard as a rock (i.e. Not fresh and have ben sitting in shelves all day..).. So despite the many varieties of bagels on... More

We heard about this bagel bakery while visiting Montreal. We've been spoiled over the years with NYC style bagels and we were up for the challenge of comparing the Fairmount bagel. We bought a nice variety and had our first one out on the bench in front of the bakery (it's a tiny bakery - so no indoor seating). Wow... More

It is a very small place where there's only room for the line-up. It might be a bit uncomfortable but the bagels make up for it. They are fresh, soft, big and have lots of flavors. I personally think that it's better than St.Viateur Bagels because they are more thicker. I usually buy the ones with sesame seeds. I had... More

If you want to try the tastiest Montreal-style bagel, then go no further. This is it! This is a regular stop for us every time we visit Montreal. This place has consistently awesome bagels and cream cheese! I love getting a dozen of various kinds and savoring each one with a hefty dose of cream cheese. Mmmmmmmm!

Although we seemed to have gotten list in the Mile amend trying to find the vintage clothing stores and the record stores, we did come upon Fairmount Bagels. Wow, with cream cheese and lox, it was so good. I am a Jewish girl from NY and have had bagels from a lot of good shops, Fairmount was one of the... More

It also seems to be tougher to get bagels fresh out of the oven than at St. Viateur. Otherwise, the extra selection is a real plus.

This was a hike from Old Town Montreal. Took the Metro to Laurier subway station and the bus. The Metro is about a 15 minute walk from the bagel shop but a bus can take you most of the way. No place to eat in the shop and the cream cheese options suck but the sesame seed bagels were warm,... More

We ordered the sesame seed bagels as they were just coming out of the oven. They were warm and fresh. We ate them at a nearby park. It was fun seeing the bagels cooking in a huge wood burning oven and being flipped over with a gigantic spatula.
