Fresh from their oven, Fairmount sells some of the best bagels in town and they keep their doors open 24/7

Hi Fairmount Bagel is not a restaurant. No seats. It's a baking shop dedicated to Bagels. From the counter you can get a glimpse of how they make bagels. Worths the trip just to see them moving bagels in the oven on 3 meters wood planks. This is the real thing hand rolled, baked in a wood oven. Open 24h... More

Great place to pick traditional Montreal bagels, straight out of the oven! (condiments are also available). They have been making hand-rolled bagels baked in wood-burning ovens since 1919! Stop by for some local color, and great snacks! And - they freeze well. (if you don't use them right away, freeze and then bake in toaster-oven when you get the urge... More

We made the trek out to the bagel shop. It is several blocks from the nearest metro but the neighborhood itself was neat to walk through. The bagels were good, especially the ones that were just out of the wood fire oven. I'm not a bagel expert, but I didn't think they weren't anything I would make a big fuss... More

This is a must after any Montreal visit. I always travel back home with at least two dozen of these beautifully, fresh-baked, addictive bagels. My family would throw a fit if I came home without them. Well worth the wait, fresh and hot. Great selection and great service.

What's there to say? We walked about an hour to get to this hole in a wall bagel shop to buy 2 dozen delicious fresh Montreal bagels plus two with cream cheese and smoked salmon to go. These are the bagels that would be served on a breakfast buffet in heaven. Chewy, on the inside perfectly crisp on the outside... More

I was a bit disappointed after going to St Viateur Bagels and almost decided no more bagels for this trip. However, I got a last minute request to bring some bagels home so decided to try Fairmount. I am so glad that I did; it was exactly as everyone said, crispy on the outside, chewy with a hint of sweetness... More

This is one of the most famous bagel places in Montreal so I had to check it out. The place is small and they do one thing and do it amazing: Bagel, You can find a lot of types from plain to salty to sweet and they are all extremely good. If you are a bagel person you need to... More

Okay, as a born and bred New Yorker who does bagels every Sunday like religion, I had to try Montreal's much touted bagels. And from what I heard, Fairmount was like the original. Sure enough - real old store, old ovens, charming neighborhood. This is old school bagel store - nothing BUT bagels and lots of 'em coming out fresh... More

Great bagels from a fire brick oven. Go late after bar hopping and have a take home breakfast. Bagels are usually too hot to put in a plastic bag. A Montreal landmark.
