Mind-blowingly good

Amazing sushi in creative, original combinations that will make your tastebuds happy; the more standard rolls are extremely well done as well.

We've been to Zenya a couple of times and we've tried various things on the menu. Everything is delicious. The staff is friendly and efficient. The fish, seafood and vegetables they use for the sushi are fresher than fresh. Only downside is the bill at the end...pretty salty! If you're ready to dish out around 50$ or more per person,... Being foodies, my boyfriend and I travelled to Montreal to splurge on all the delicious things the beautiful city has to offer. While going around (pretty much) from restaurant to restaurant, we each shared things from each restaurant to get the most out of it. At ZENYA though, we treated ourselves. The decor is beautiful- with a lovely bridge taking... More

Has your love affair with sushi grown a bit stale over the years? Put the spark right back in that relationship with the Rainbow Sashimi creation at Zenya. It’s a tricolour flag of red tuna, king salmon (orange) and striped bass (white), in a marinade of light soy sauce, ponzu and truffle oil, with tobiko and … never mind, knowing... More

This was not my first visit to that restaurant. Prior to a pleasant evening at the theater a friend and I had a wonderful dining experience at 'Zenya Sushi' restaurant. We chose from the specialty menu and totally enjoyed every bite. Our waiter was very friendly and explained the different choices very well. The atmosphere is very pleasant and 'zen'.... More

Walking down St. Catherines, looking for a sushi restaurant, we see an awning on a non-descript building. Upon entering the lower floor, there is only a doorman sitting at a desk at the back of the room. No other signs or anything. When asked, he tells us to go to the 2nd floor. Once we get out of the elevator,... More

Located on St-Catherine St. Ouest on the second floor. Don't blink or you will miss. The food is good - the motown and snow white are unique. The atmosphere is great and they offer good sake (though a little on the expensive side). Have been at the restaurant on two occasions and it was always busy (Monday) which is a... More

When I was locating a good Japanese restaurant in Montreal, it appears that Zenya was the number 1 recommendation. Hence, we came here on our first night in town. We made a reservation but it was not necessary as there were only 2-3 tables occupied when we got there at 6:30 p.m. on a week night. When we got to... More

Went to Zenya with my husband during our recent trip to Quebec. We were looking for a good sushi place and I stambled upon Zenya on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try. What should I tell you - I was not dissapointed! The restaurant is located in mid town, on a busy St. Catharine street, among many shops... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
