4.5 if I could....

Thank goodness for TripAdvisor and Open Table, or we would have never found this place. On Rue St. Catherine in the more upscale downtown area, you'd never see this place to walk in. It is located on the top (4th?) floor of a very narrow building without much of a first-floor presence save a small... read more

Hard to find but worth the trip! If you don't look this place up, you'll go right by. Once inside it is surprisingly nice and the food is very good. I asked the waiter how long they hd been at this location and was told 15 years. That says alot about a place so hard to find.

The waitress was super friendly and helped us with the special menu and the vine. We did not have to wait long and the food was fresh and tasted great!

Having spent three days in Montreal, was looking for something different to eat. Stumbled upon this restaurant, which is situated on the first floor of a building on one of the main thoroughfares in the city. What a find. This is some of the best Japanese food I have ever had. We selected the chefs choice at 60 Canadian dollars... More

i've been to a lot of sushi places here and abroad, and I hands down say this is the best. Their special sushis are absolutely amazing and each one of them is a completely different party in your mouth! Oh and its not only the sushi, there fish is also amazing. I had their cod (morue in french) that was... More

Amazing sushi in creative, original combinations that will make your tastebuds happy; the more standard rolls are extremely well done as well.

We've been to Zenya a couple of times and we've tried various things on the menu. Everything is delicious. The staff is friendly and efficient. The fish, seafood and vegetables they use for the sushi are fresher than fresh. Only downside is the bill at the end...pretty salty! If you're ready to dish out around 50$ or more per person,... Being foodies, my boyfriend and I travelled to Montreal to splurge on all the delicious things the beautiful city has to offer. While going around (pretty much) from restaurant to restaurant, we each shared things from each restaurant to get the most out of it. At ZENYA though, we treated ourselves. The decor is beautiful- with a lovely bridge taking... More

Has your love affair with sushi grown a bit stale over the years? Put the spark right back in that relationship with the Rainbow Sashimi creation at Zenya. It’s a tricolour flag of red tuna, king salmon (orange) and striped bass (white), in a marinade of light soy sauce, ponzu and truffle oil, with tobiko and … never mind, knowing... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
