Fabulous food

This restaurant was so great that we went back to eat here a second time during our vacation. Next time we go to Montreal, we are going to check out the Sunday brunch at their other location.

Disappointed. My main dish was the only dish served like a small dog food dish amongst all the customers. Recommended vegetable was extra cost, which is cheating. Too narrow, crowded space. Service is extremely rude.

An amazing little restaurant, perfect for a meal or just a snack and drink. Shared the Demi size of the nachos for 2 along with a glass of beer and it was a perfect snack.

I discovered this place when I was a student at McGill 5 years ago. I'm a huge fan of their tomato pie, it's my favourite plate on the menu and I always tend to order it. The nachos and lasagna are excellent as well. Save room for dessert! You'll be in for a real treat!

Being a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised to find Cafe Lola Rosa. We went on Thursday, around 2000 hrs. The place was packed. We however, got a place within 5-10 minutes. The restaurant has a nice, warm cosy ambience, buzzing with activity. This is not a fine dine, romantic restaurant, but a place to have a nice vegetarian meal. The... More

This was a bit of a jammed space, partly because it was so popular, yet it was comfortable enough to still enjoy our birthday dinner for us six. The menu was extensive, and the portions were generous, and each dish I got to taste besides my own was delicious. Service was busy but friendly and helpful, and I would definitely... More

We loved this restaurant.  It was truly exceptional vegetarian food - so many people turn up their noses when they hear the word "vegetarian," but this place would change that in an instant.  We shared the burrito and a half order of nachos - the burrito was just spicy enough and was filled with black beans, cheese, and a terrific... Overall is a good restaurant, nice environment and friendly people. Food is nothing special but adequate for the price.

I visited this cafe twice so far, tried the burritos, chai latte, and the favorite which will probably go more and more is the lasagne!! One of the most delirious lasagne I've ever tried. You won't regret the visit :)

I don't think I've come across a better restaurant in 30 years as a vegetarian. The food is amazing, menu is creative and very good value, the service excellent. It is clearly popular with the locals and can get pretty packed, but don't miss it! Well worth the wait for a table, or just make a reservation.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
