Love this place!

The food is great! This is a vegetarian/ vegan spot with great service. Ask for Anthony. We ordered the Rosa Salad, the quesadilla, the veggie burger and the poutine and a couple of the Virgin drinks. We would go back again!

I've eaten here many times when visiting family in Montreal. The food is geared toward vegan/vegetarians, but everyone we take here agrees that it is wonderful. Food is filling and interesting, and there is always a good selection with many specials. Lola Rosa is near McGill University and feels a part of the neighborhood. It is usually quite busy, but... We walked here from St Catherine/St Laurent and it was SO worth it. They don't take reservations and we rocked up at 7.30pm. We waited a max of 15 minutes for a table. The prices are SO great and the quality of food is awesome. Such authentic flavours. Great atmosphere. There is just a tip jar at the desk which... More

Lola Rosa's is a regular run for us, especially with patio season upon us. The sangria is delicious, but there is a nice selection of beer and wine as well. Most dishes can be made vegan and at reasonable prices. Particular favorites are the nachos (huge portion, great to share!), the mac'n'cheese, Moroccan couscous and the burgers. Service is friendly,... More

I ate about four dinners here during my week Montreal at the beginning of May 2015. My reason for trying it is that I am vegetarian. The restaurant has many vegetarian and some vegan options. Great flavor, great service. It's a great option for a relaxed casual dinner in downtown Montreal very near McGill University. I enthusiastically recommend it.

Wow. This restaurant was really impressive. We were taking a short course at McGill and looking for somewhere closeby to eat. Lola Rosa's is found amongst the townhouses, I think you would miss it if you weren't looking for it. A quaint little cafe with thailand decor (pillows on the chair and art on the wall), the menu has a... More

Turned up early evening on a Friday so we were very lucky to get a table as just afterwards the queue was out the door of this very popular restaurant. The atmosphere was great and the variety and choice of food was very good. We had one of the specials, but there is a good choice on the regular menu.... More

From their location, to very intersting rustic tables, food, and definitely very friendly staff, we enjoyed every minute there. Will definitely go next time we are in Montreal. We had tomatoes and red pepper soup, delicious. Then spinach and cheese lasagna, burrito, cheese cake, chocolate cake, cream brulé, everything was perfect! Even non vegetarians will be satisfied with the food... More

Montreal is one of my favourite cities to travel to but I had never been to Cafe Lola Rosa until my last visit and I was surprised with how much I loved it. In a city that has some of the best foods I've ever had, Lola Rosa stood out. The food was great but the experience was even better!... More

Everything we tried was really very good, but especially enjoyed the nachos and the hemp/lentil burgers. Nice patio provided a great place for people watching and the restaurant is in a perfect location if you're visiting Mount Royal. Only drawback here was that the service was slow, but the food more than made up for it.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
