A Montreal Experience

Montreal is one of my favourite cities to travel to but I had never been to Cafe Lola Rosa until my last visit and I was surprised with how much I loved it. In a city that has some of the best foods I've ever had, Lola Rosa stood out. The food was great but the experience was even better!... read more

Everything we tried was really very good, but especially enjoyed the nachos and the hemp/lentil burgers. Nice patio provided a great place for people watching and the restaurant is in a perfect location if you're visiting Mount Royal. Only drawback here was that the service was slow, but the food more than made up for it.

We went to this place on a Thursday evening and it was packed with people. It's a very small place near the University and normally very noisy also. After waiting for 20 minutes, we got the seat. The staff was very good even through they were super busy. We ordered Nachos and Lasagna and it was truly amazing. Will go... More

Crazy busy and tight inside but the food makes it all worthwhile. I had a quesadilla which is a pretty simple and common menu item, but this one was the best I have ever had. It was veggie of course and with added avocado so it was filled with it as well as cheese and smothered in a delicious tomato... More

So my daughter is a new vegan and as such we are having some growing pains with feeding her. We stopped in for lunch a Lola Rosa's and loved the eclectic urban vibe. The nachos were awesome. I ordered the chili and simply couldn't eat it due to the overwhelming use of cilantro (which I can't stand) service and everything... More

Lola Rosa is incredible whether you are vegetarian or not. Fresh, high-quality ingredients and creative, rich, delicious, tried and true menu items. The desserts are great as well. Excellent service, especially the server who is older (but still young) than the rest. Super affordable as well. No reason not to go!

There are a couple vegetarian restaurants in Montreal, and this is for sure one of the best. As it's close to McGill campus, I go often and can vouch that the Nachos are fantastic and perfect to share. I've been with non-vegetarian friends and they all loved their food. The only little thing that can be a bother is that... More

I have been to Lola Rosa three times, once at the rue Milton location and the other times at the Parc location. Each time I have had the chili as it is soooo good! My son and his girlfriend had the nachos and a salad. The staff are very accommodating as one person in our party was vegan and her... More

My wife and I tried this restaurant on a recent stay in Montreal. We found this restaurant on trip advisor and read a lot of good reviews. We had the soup of the day which was really good! It had lemongrass, vanilla, coconut and butternut squash. We also had the macaroni and cheese. It was sooooo good! Good food that's... More

Ambiance is very hipster. Staff are inviting. Food is delicious. Prices are reasonable. I had the veggie curry. I will definitely be going back to try other dishes.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
