I made a reservation based on trip advisor reviews. I needed a reservation, They honor for 2 or 6 . Your table is sitting waiting for you, with your name on a piece of stone. the food was all outstanding. The fact that they have 2 major herb gardens, speak from fresh. I had the venison special, tasted great, and... More

What a beautiful restaurant with a welcoming ambiance paying attention to small details. Ie. Your name on a small plaque is on the table where you will be seated at. They only have approx. 24 seats so reservations are a must! They served a delicious amuse bouche made with avocado black quinoa, mustard vinaigrette. If they had the dish on the... More

Thanks to trip advisor we booked this restaurant weeks before arriving in Montreal. The small menu was easy to navigate and the waiter was helpful in assisting us with our choice. All the food was well presented and delicious. The mango chilli Mojito is a must try cocktail! We appreciated the extra advice on where to head out after. Trip... More

We ate here Saturday night by the bar. It's right on top of the open kitchen which was amazing to watch the very skilled and hard working chefs. The food was prepared beautifully with lots of imagination and varied vegetables and fresh ingredients. All was delicious. Thank you Shawn for squeezing us in. A lovely evening and worth a visit... We were intrigued by the origin of the name and the waitress, who must have heard this question every night, eloquently told the story of the painting of 2 Monkeys that the chef owner had received from an elderly French lady in Montarvie France. The restaurant itself was typical "old Montreal" : simple, charming with the herb garden tucked in... More

If I were to be put into the electric chair this would definitely be my last meal. Incredibly creative and delicious combined with a great atmosphere and service.

Attention to every detail, food that is creative not just for the sake of creativity, visually stunning meals, friendly and efficient staff......oh and the meals taste fantastic. I don't think it matters what you choose. ( we had Park belly carpaccio and veal tartare, followed by another veal dish and Arctic char. I'm not sure how but we finished with Panna... More

My wife and I returned to Les Deux Singes after a two-year absence. Again, the food and the service were absolutely top-notch. The menu and the restaurant are both small--11 tables with seating for about 25 people, room for 6 or 7 more at the bar. The menu featured five appetizers, four mains, and three deserts. The small wine list... More

Lovely small restaurant in the Mile End, Montreal. This is a very hip area and the restaurant has the same vibe. The service is nice, the restaurant is casual. The food is fantastic. Really good. They should have a Michelin star. Probably the best food in Montreal. Book well in advance or you might be disappointed. I think several weeks... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
