Yummy momo's

Went to the restaurant on a Saturday night, lovely intimate atmosphere. We are vegetarian and the selection for us was abundant. The owner himself walked us through the menu with great suggestions. He is a sweetheart! Ingredients were fresh and after finishing didn't want to go into a food coma... read more

The momos (dumplings) are incredible, the Sha Ka Tsa was amazing. Everything is made from fresh ingredients and the service is perfect! This was my first experience with Tibetan cuisine and I really liked it. They also serve a good selection of Indian food.

Excellent food experience at Om. I had never eaten Tibetan before, and was pleasantly surprise by the complexity of flavors! Our first waiter explained the menu in detail to our group of six, describing the dishes we were unfamiliar with and making suggestions as to how we might get the most out of our choices. We ordered a bit of... More

The fare was half Indian, half Tibetan. My friend and I shared the dishes...her entree was Samosa, mine Mo Mo with shrimp. Samosa was good although not the best I've had. The Mo Mo was just dumplings stuffed with shrimp...many Asian restaurants serve much better. Main dishes. Indian was butter chicken, which was also good but not better than I... More

This was my first experience of Tibetan food. It is an excellent menu with an atmosphere of calm. We tried dumplings and soup to start, the blue cheese soup was out of this world. We followed with two meat dishes and the tastes were new, a touch of curry but something different, you have to go to know!!! The host... More

Excellent mix of Asian and Indian cuisines. Super service . Try the steamed bread: to die for! Will go back and bring friends for them to experience this.

Went to the restaurant on a Saturday night, lovely intimate atmosphere. We are vegetarian and the selection for us was abundant. The owner himself walked us through the menu with great suggestions. He is a sweetheart! Ingredients were fresh and after finishing didn't want to go into a food coma like I normally feel after eating normal buttery/oily Indian food... More

My daughter & her husband had been there before and this time they "treated" me. Excellent Tibetan food. Had a mix of momos: Tashi-Delek delish! Ping-Sha (sauteed beef with wild mushrooms) was excellent, and the Shap-Ta (beef with onions, green & red peppers) was even better, if at all possible. Beware: the Sha-Ka-Tsa is made with VERY HOT peppers !... More

What a great find! The food was absolutely perfect. My son and I really loved the Than Tuk with its homemade noodles and wonderful broth - we had it with chicken, but it is available with beef. My husband loved the momo's and our standout dish was the fried daal!

I tried this place because we had a Groupon coupon and I was pleased with the experience! The staff helped us to make a good decision for the menu and everything was great. We had the tashi-dalek (mixted momos) and samosas for appetizers, which were very good. Unfortunately, they were out of lamb when I visited, so I couldn't try... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
