Best falafel in Montreal

This is the best place for falafel in Montreal. If you are looking for the taste you used to get in the Middle East, go nowhere! The place is missy, run down, not so clean, but for a take out, it is worth it!

I don't remember eating falafel that was this good and this fresh! The falalfel balls were crunchy outside and oh so tender inside and green! The pita super fresh too. I took the trio $2.50 (plus tax) for the total experience. I had soup (delicious) that amazing falafel sandwhich and yellow juice (lemonade). Actually I paid.50 cents extra for maroccan... More

I am totally addicted to this place! I bring all my friends and family. The food is amazing the price really affordable and the service is incredible. It's got that small town vibe where you are recognised everytime you go in :)

Nilufar has to be one of only a few places in Montreal that really nails it for its given price-point...The fact of the matter is that you won't get nearly as much good body-fuel per dollar almost anywhere else. two bucks for a great falafel pita, soup (half-lentil, half-vegetable is always a GREAT idea), and a bit of peach drink... Good but cheap food at a welcoming place. Lots of veggie and vegan options, and if you want your sandwich done a certain way they're happy to do it. Good selection of soups; I recommend the lentil.

The restaurant is a bit run down but the food is very tasty and inexpensive with decent sized portions.

People rave about Boustan's falafel... Please... That Brown stuff isn't even palatable compared to what Nilufar has. You can get a falafel-filled pita for under a buck-fifty or under two dollars if you add roasted eggplant or another treat. The balls are green and yellow on the Inside, as they should be, and Nilufar herself is there most of the... More

So wait, you're downtown Montréal, you're hungry but not down for chinese food, or pizza, or even Tim Hortons. If you have two bucks in your pockets, and willing to walk a little bit from Guy-Concordia metro, you must try it. You will love it for 3 reasons: CHEAP; it's super-cheap. For 2$, you have a soup (3 choices), a... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
