Still best chicken in town

I am delighted every time i come back to Romados, It is by far the best grilled chicken place in town. Portuguese chicken being the best !! Make sure you call to order 20-30mn before showing up if you don't want to wait in line...

They have been serving the best chicken in town for years but still charge a very affordable price. Make sure you can at least 30 minutes ahead so you only to wait in the pickup line.

The smell of this place will draw you in from blocks away. The lines inside might discourage you. But if you plan well, you will not be disappointed! Hubby and I were staying a few blocks from this restaurant, and decided to start our day with an early lunch here, before the crowds came (11a). We noted that you can... More

Very good chicken. First time I didn't like the hot sauce (too spicy for me) so I returned to taste the regular sauce...... on top of a freshly cooked half chicken and a few Natas after.... you can happily die after!... I look forward to get back there!.... mmmm

This review is for the chicken (I'm a big protein fan). I wish this was in NYC. The chicken was moist, perfect spices, and the hot sauce had a good amount of heat. If you want more heat, ask for more sauce. Surprisingly, the side salad that came with it was perfect to cool off the heat from the hot... More

Does to chicken what Schwartz's does for smoked meat, St. Viateur does for bagels, La Banquise does for poutine. Best take-out chicken around. Go for the spicy option.

I had the chance to taste Romados chicken twice in my life. The first time was 2 years ago, I ordered a full-chicken for take-out and it was dry as the desert. The second time was roughly a month ago. It was not only dry, but there was missing a leg and it tasted like a glass of red wine.... More

I usually buy vouchers online to go to Romados and for the amount that I pay I get a lot more! The chicken is really tasty and the staffs are always friendly. Not forgetting about their nice variety of deserts as well as Portuguese bread. I went there last Thanksgiving but this time the service took forever, we waited at... More

Five stars for the amount of food/price ratio, 4 stars for the taste, 2 stars for the food they gave me. I went there at ~6pm on a Saturday in August since I heard it would be packed later. 5-6 persons were in line so it did not take too long. Ordered to-go with a half-chicken combo that many people... My expectation was higher than what I got. The chicken is good, but I will not rate it as I saw people did. The chicken was not seasoned and fries were really oily and tasted old.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
