The Price is Right

13$ for a whole BBQ chicken and butchered for you...I am not sure you can beat that. My mistake was not taking the spicy sauce. The mild sauce didn't add much flavour. The line is long but the wait is worth it! The poutine is super good and a little spicy! The prices are very fair and the options of desserts and drinks are good. Sunday is very busy so i recommend to call beforehand (the line of reservation is shorter)!

A nice inexpensive treat for a weekend lunch. The chicken looked and tasted great, but the chicken pouting was the star. When you order a platter, you get the chicken, a small salad and an enormous helping of fries. Definitely a place worth stopping in if you are in the area. There are number of small round tables, but if... More

Lots of hype surrounding this restaurant here in Montreal. I went today with wonderful anticipation of mouth-watering charcoal-grilled chicken...alas, the chicken was kind of dry & there was no sauce. The fries were too chewy & salty (again no sauce), the salad was mixed with the hot food so call me crazy but warm, limpy salad is a major no-no.... More

What a find. Excellent Portuguese chicken. Very fresh. Eat it at their lunch counter or take it home. Their fries are fabulous but a bit greasy. Their desserts look excellent. I never tried them, watching my weight. To avoid long lines during the rush periods, call your order in, they have a separate line for pick-ups. My biggest problem, the... More

Greatest chicken ever, large portions and very reasonable prices. It is a very busy place so call ahead to benefit from the priority line.

My husband and I both got a 1/4 chicken dinner (with fries and salad). We were stuffed but very happy. We took ours to go and ate in a cute little park down the street. Even the seagulls were jealous of our delicious meal! Their piri piri sauce is amazing.

We stood in line for a bit then decided to go elsewhere since we were very hungry. As we walked by the window and saw the fire-grilled chicken, we changed our minds and got back in line. We were glad we did. There isn't much seating but we had a nice visit with a family from Montreal. The chicken and... More

Very busy place, but they serve a really tasty chicken. You can also get Portugese pastry, especially Pastel de Nata, just like in Belem/Lisbon.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
